Pippop: Im glad you got it. How much did you pay for it. CONGRATS.
I wanted that bag too, but the handles kinda turned me off..I guess Im quite selective or picky on a bag that I purchase.

It's hard nowadays doing eBay....It's hits or misses. Im always leery and cautious and do my research. After reading various threads regarding scams, fakes and other things happening to our dear forumeers here..its makes me wonder. Thats why, I feel safer to get it at Bal NY.

I have sold a few bags on eBay.. I do keep the communication open and answers lots of questions, sends photos, receipts..etc. My reputation is important and need a good rapport for the buyers and sellers.

I would like to buy another weekender, I think Im going to hold off for the Fall06 or Spring/Summer07 collection.

The thing is, khaki is an 04 color - 04 leather! Yummy, beautiful, melt-in-your-hands leather! I seriously didn't understand what all the fuss was about with the 04 leathers until I got one myself. It is truly one-of-a-kind! Yes, the dirty handles turn me off, but I think for an 04 weekender, the price is pretty fair...

Are you sure the second chance offer was legitimate Winona?

I love the bag, and want to buy that and sell my bordeaux *maybe*, since my bordeaux is like new, perfect -- and I will need to use the weekender a lot, and the khaki is already broken in....... but they want too much for me at the moment for a used weekender. :sigh: (the reserve is now around $900)

It was legit, I've had a fake one before, this was from the seller's ID.
Weird.

I'm probably an idiot but i've been obsessing over this bag for days. Today when I woke up and saw it was still there, I threw caution to the winds and did a buy it now. I know the handles are gross and you guys thought it is overpriced but I couldn't resist. I think i can work with the handles...Army green is my favorite color and i don't have a weekender...i hope it turns out ok!

^ oh, CONGRATS varsha!! The 04 leather is yummmyy... I just got my first 04 bag today, and it's just beyond soft! Hope you'll love it when it comes

let us know how it goes.. i know there has been a lot of talk about cleaning handles, but i do think you could probably have them professionally cleaned, they may never be perfect, but i bet they could be better. there is a place in new york called Art Bag. if you google them, you'll get the address. i bet you could send them the bag if you are not in this area, or at least call them. i am sure they deal with dirty bbag handles everyday.

t:D

Thanks Toni and hatikuh! i will try the handles place. Chassure recommended someone in the LA area, so we'll see how it goes. i agree that if not perfect they can at least be better, and with this particular color, I think I can camouflage them better than other colors. At least I hope I can! Oh well, call it an expensive experiment <g>

varsha, it's a beautiful color and the leather looks wonderful. i thought long and hard about bidding on that one too. i wish you lots of luck on "project handles".:flowers:

Thanks esile, toni and aalabama! I just heard from the seller and I'm feeling pretty good about it. I will definitely take lots of pics of before and after of the handles. i'm excited!

oh goody sweetie, i'm so happy you're happy!!! ...i don't think i've ever seen this color before (but i'm partial to greens )...so, i'm excited to see your pictures!!!

Congrats Girl..Im looking forward for your before and after pics on the handle situation.

I've been a "green" color fanatic lately. After my Emerald...I just might succumb to the Forest Green weekenders come Fall06.

BY THE WAY...Sprayed my Bbags with Applegarde Spray, Both of my Ink courier and Emerald weekenders turned out GREAT. I sprayed the weekender handles 3 times and all over the body, side, front, back, bottom and hung both of them for a few hours. It LOOKED GREAT.

It's gotten more softer then before...BUTTERY SOFT and SHINY.
I was very pleased. Now they are back in their Balenciaga House Box..waiting to see the world....Maybe, I'll take my emerald for my trip to Las Vegas..(I have a layover there.)

So...Applegarde Works..Thanks ladies and Gentlemen for the hot tip!
