Well ... call me the Queen of the Weekender/Voyage; I have 4 of them!!! Some of them are pictured in my thread "Ceejay's Balenciaga Bags".

However ... a couple of facts:
  1. I travel A LOT for business (US --> UK, US = Europe, etc.). With a large-sized bag, I can carry both my "usual" handbag stuff along with work files, so it eliminates carrying one extra bag. One of the reasons why I so LOVE my Balenciaga bags is the distressed leather. At the end of the week, when I'm heading home, that poor thing get a lot of abuse!
  2. I'm very tall (5'10"), so - a) I'm used to carrying a large bag and b) I have the frame for a large bag (if anything, as much as I love the "First" style, it looks absolutely ridiculous on me!).
So, do I use it everyday ... sometimes, but I would say that generally speaking, it's not really an "everyday" bag. The Office/Work is probably a little better for everyday/office (as - again, you can put your work files into it).

I would say that the most versatile bag is the City (Medium); those are the ones that I use most frequently.

I think it depends, I use mine for work only. I usually work long hours, (hairstylist/makeup artist) so I pack everything from power bars, a water bottle, a sweater to extra (comfortable)shoes, my expensive shears, etc. I'm only 5'2" but, usually 5'5" (heels) a size 14/16 and it looks fine on me. But, for a everyday bag (shopping, lunch with the girls, etc.) it might be too big.

the weekender is pretty huge...i have an indigo workbag and at first i wanted to get the weekender bag, thank god i didn't coz the workbag was already too big to be true..but i love it tho..the bigger the better..

I've just bought a rust/reddish orange weekender and I find this size perfect for my everyday needs:))) Despite of I'm not tall at all, I like myself carrying big bags, so it's just a personal taste choice:)))^o^

OOoooh ... is that one of new 2006 Orange/Rust ones that you got? I've been dying to see that color ... POST PICS!

i think it's just a matter of preference. if you tend to lug around a lot of your daily needs, then yes, it would be good. i know some friends who consider it very functional as an everyday bag. and then there are moms that swear by it because it is ideal for toting around the children's stuff (diapers, sippy cups, extra clothing, toys, etc.) including their own stuff: wallet, keys, makeup bag, etc.

there's also the choice of the office/work bag in case you feel the weekender may "overwhelm" you (which is one size under the voyager). that may work for you instead as an everyday bag if the city is too small. ;)

I really wish the handles on both the work and the weekender were a tad bit longer. The main reason I haven't purchased one of these styles is because they don't go over my shoulder easily when I have a bulky coat on. If my bag is filled to the brim I would rather not have to carry it in the crook of my arm.

I definitely think it's a matter of preference. I have a weekender and I have worn it as an everyday bag. It's nice, because if it starts off fairly empty it does not look too big (due to the fact it is so light and slouchy) and if you need to add things to it throughout the day, you'll always have room! It's also a great shopping bag - you can just stuff all of your purchases in one bag!
