usually everyone is invited to a wedding with an option to bring a guest with them. at least that's what i did. however, maybe there was a limit to the number of people that she could invite, or she just invited friends solo. it may be a bit rude in a sense, but it's your option to just decline the invite if you don't want to go alone.
