I'm starting the process of converting to Judaism and picking out an engagement ring. I know that I've gotta have that plain band because of tradition, so I really want a great, sparkly e-ring (but one that doesn't stick up too much).
I'm really thinking of an eternity band for my e-ring, but I want to have two small plain wedding bands to sandwich it (for symmetry). Has anyone else ever done that or seen pics?
mine is neither. 
it's a half-eternity, alternating round and baguette diamonds. I chose a half eternity because I wanted diamonds, but as opposed to a full eternity:
1. it's cheaper
2. it's easier to resize
3. it can be engraved (my fiance really wanted to engrave it)
4. it's more durable since you're not hitting the diamonds on the back of your hand against things all the time and knocking them loose.
5. it's more comfortable. I don't like the feeling of stones between my fingers.
I love mine.
I can't wait to get married so I can wear it... very soon now!

i have both.
5 carat emerald cut eternity band when we got married.
and i also use just a simple 14k white gold band that i got when we became domestic partners.
if i know i am going to the gym i always use the simple band. etc.

I went with a 5-stone 1.25 ct prong set band:

I have both too - same reason, I couldn't decide when we got married last year. 
I personally only wear the eternity band since I like the extra sparkle (the sizing issue I'm not worried about - I figure I can just sell it since it's a Tiffany&Co, so the resale should be good and use it toward a bigger eternity band if I change sizes.
I like full eternity bands much more than the half-ones, and there's no spin factor at all to worry about! The channel set one is very easy to wear and doesn't get caught on things.
