I believe the shipping fees charged by FSH is either 200 or 250 Euros with or without the bag in the box. The SA told me last August when I visited that she could mail the empty box for me back to the U.S and it would cost the same if I decided not to carry the bag and just mail the bag with the box.

Wowsers! 200 euros is too expensive to ship an empty box!

Boo, do you know if this was done via Fedex, next day shipping etc?

I went back and found WingNut's thread on her SO from FSH and she mentioned it was shipped via DHL.

I ended up putting my HAC's box in my suitcase (I was prepared because I brought a suitcase big enough for a HAC/Birkin box) and carried the bag onboard with me. I thought 200 Euro for shipping an empty box was nuts! I just stuffed my clothes in the box and problem solved!

It is! I paid 90 pounds to ship an empty H box home and I was already screaming daylight robbery. :smile1: I think I will just send the box on home myself... IIRC there's a La Poste along the Champs Elysee

Hi all

I just got my tickets confirmed for italy:)

Wonder is it easy to bring a 4 years old toddler around italy?
On a stroller

Congrats and yes please do bring a stroller for your child. Both of you will be in a new time zone and your child will feel more tired. You could go anywhere (shopping, dining and museum) while he can take naps in the stroller.

thanks!
how about strolling along the road? is it even flooring? can a stroller go by easily? I have no problem using a stroller in paris and ldn, not sure about italy

^Just saw you're coming in November, so you shouldn't have problems with long queues but pls. take warm clothes with you and a cover for your little boy while he's in the stroller. It can get quite cold in North Italy in November, while you shouldn't have problems in Rome

Gasp! Sorry, I should have misread! September is fine, definitely not too hot but still warm during the day.
Take a light jacket for the nights, something like leather jackets will work well.

What are your plans for Italy now: Rome, Milano,...??? In the crowds take care for your bags and purse (sorry Maryg1). I use to visit Italy twice a year in May and September and I love Italy, but the tourists are so easy to mug, especially in Milano, that's my own experience:-(. The wether was beautiful and if it's to hot, visit a church. They are georgeous and chilly. Good luck for you B hunt. I asked for your travel route; if it's possible to visit Monaco, don't miss it, even not the H in Monte Carlo.

I would actually suggest bringing slightly thicker jackets for your child, just in case. I'm so used to our heat that I get cold quite easily (even in the fall!) so I would rather err on the side of caution, especially for a young child (don't want him to fall sick!)

maryg1 - i read that sept is one of the best month to visit Italy. Will definitely bring something to warm up the body and neck in the night, if all fails, there's hermes store, the shawl shd be able to warm me nicely :graucho:

silkfringe - thanks for the reminder, will definitely watch out for my purse. Planning rome, siena, florence, venice and ends the trip in milan.. a relaxing trip, I am not planning to make sure I see everything, just experience the life in different part of italy :D

pyreixa - you are so right, I m now wearing a wool jacket, with shawl ard my neck in the office. Any bit of cold, I will shiver. My boy is asthmatic, so i must make sure he is always toasty. Will remember to bring thicker jackets.;)
