30cm box fits very nicely in my samsonite luggage. 35cm box is bigger than the 30cm box. So I was not able to bring the 35cm box home when I bought the 35cm birkin from Tokyo.

When I got my 35 in Paris I had to get the orange box as cabin luggage:graucho:
In other trips I used the samsonite for the 30s

we are all about enabling each other and making sure our goodies arrive safe & sound (plus, nobody gets left behind )

*i'm all about the boxes, the boxes makes organizing the bags easier.

i LOVE those boxes too...... :-)
I never even get close to be as crazy for orange boxes with LV ones......
It has to be the orange disease :graucho:

Thanks costa, I will take the measurement of 30cm box with the lid on and hopefully able to find the correct size cabin trolley bag. I intend to travel light on my next trip and skip the luggage collection counter.

I am on the same hunt! LOL
I think if you follow SQ's dimensions for cabin luggage (22x15x8) you should be able to fit a 30cm box inside it, but maybe no space for anything else.

But actually, I am planning on lumping my boxes together and then shipping them home, empty (and will bring bubble wrap and tape along just for it, LOL!) The goodies I'll definitely hand carry home.

That is a good idea pyrexia ! Maybe I should do that. Will Hermes boutique or the hotel concierge able to help me do the shipping arrangement?

For the H boutique... they will definitely ship home for you - goods and all inside the box. BUT, although you get the VAT refund immediately (i.e. they don't charge you for it at all), you will have to pay extra for the shipping (I don't know how much exactly it is for us) AND you will have to pay the 7% GST when it reaches our customs, cos they will not under-declare the value of whatever you've bought.

I know some tPFers have gotten the empty box shipped home (I'm sure there was a shipping charge involved... but again, I'm not sure how much it is) but when I asked at FSH, the SA told me there is no such option. I can only assume that they only do this for customers they know fairly well.

As for hotel concierge, I have never asked them to send anything back (stayed in a service apt the last time I was in Paris), but I do think that they should be able to arrange this. I actually plan on doing this for my next trip (but will still bubblewrap the box myself, because I am very particular about things like that!). I am pretty sure that 4/5* hotels will gladly make shipping arrangements like that :smile1:

I believe the shipping fees charged by FSH is either 200 or 250 Euros with or without the bag in the box. The SA told me last August when I visited that she could mail the empty box for me back to the U.S and it would cost the same if I decided not to carry the bag and just mail the bag with the box.
