Question....

You said to brush against the scales when cleaning...does it matter if you brush both ways? I feel like brushing against the scales will only push the dirt more under the scales...am I wrong for interpreting it this way?

Hi candy-brushing against the scales brushes the dirt out. Keep in mind that you're using a really soft brush. Like a facial brush. If you brush with the grain of the scales, you're just brushing the scales down over the dirt instead of brushing it out from underneath. Make sense?

Yes it does make sense. Thanks hun!

Thanks so much for the info Nat! I want to use Meltonian but I am still a little scared...I am afraid I will ruin my ADs and Jennys. Then I think, well its better to protect these expensive pairs instead of being paranoid when you wear them. I think I am going to do it. I saw the pictures of your Jennys and ADs and they look good to me. The brush thing throws me off a little. Isn't a face brush like an exfoliating brush? Where did you buy your brush Nat? Also, after the shoe is dry (the second time you spray) you use the brush to remove the dirt but is there alot of dirt and does it take alot of time to remove?

I use all Meltonian products with the exception of Lincoln E-Z Clean to clean spots off. It's very mild. For conditioning, I use Meltonian boot and shoe cream polish in #1. It will even take finger nail scratches out of your lambskin bags. That was a gift imparted on me by my Bvlgari rep. They use it on their bags. That's for nappa and leather shoes.

Hi Nat, any recommendations on what I can use to clean light colored satin? A product name would be great. Thank you in advance :flowers:

I use Lincoln E-Z clean. Use a very soft white cloth. Like a baby diaper or baby wash cloth and a little dab will do it. I used it to clean my Youpli and it was fine. Just be very careful not to saturate it.

Don't do this but I've actually used those Tide pens on my satin Chanel bags to get really bad spots off. I got red lipstik on one of my satin Chanel evening bags and I took a huge chance using it but I use it on the satin on the inside of my bags and it works fine so I figured...should be ok. It worked and it it was fine. DO NOT DO IT. I was just telling you.

Oh, no, LA, you don't brush them when they're new. It's what you use after they're already treated and you wear them out and they get dirty.

Not an exfoliating brush, a facial brush. They are super soft. I use a facial brush to wash my face every day. I'm obsessed with my skin and my dermatologist, years ago, started me using a (ok off topic) very mild cleanser with a very soft facial brush. I buy mine at a beauty supply store. But here's a link to one so you can see what I'm talking about:

OT but question... Does the brush catch and hold the bacteria it washes from your face? Do you sanitize the brush every so often?

jenay-you don't use the same brush. You buy one for your shoes. My shoes have their own little pink brush that stays in the shoe closet with them. It sleeps in there with all of my other shoe accessories. Even my accessories have accessories.:D
