this is horrendous. this makes me very fearful of using ebay and paypal. this just stinks! I am so enjoying buying and selling on ebay. what a total bust! I am so sorry for all of you with these bad experiences.

I will never buy anything fancy from overseas, it's just not worth the risk and sleepless nights:-) I barely sell anything expensive anymore as a seller too--now I just consign and be done with the worries.

You know it's funny because PayPal is used as a security measure for the Seller... at least I think. We should start a petition to boycott Paypal if they don't assist in doing anything to help! I'm sure you'd find a handful of us that would sign :)

Kristie, I am so sorry that this has happend to you. I'm sending lots of hugs your way... You sold me a brand new LV black mahina XL a few years ago...

OP, my eBay problems with an international seller seem like nothing compared to what you are going through. I hope things eventually work out for you in the end and your credit score is not dinged.

The only advice I can offer you is keep fighting. As long as you have the will to fight then all will prevail in the end. I was once scammed on a different website (boutiquelafrance.com), thinking I was purchasing an authentic Chanel. I was 22 years old at the time and very ignorant. It took a total of THREE YEARS but the end result was I got my money back, and the woman who scammed me was prosecuted and found guilty. I kept fighting. Keep your head and spirits up the best you can...YOU ARE NOT IN THE WRONG HERE.

No, she is not in the US. Another reason NOT to sell Internationally without a wire transfer.

So sorry to hear this happen to you.

What difference does a wire transfer make for international sales?

On the buying side, I wired some funds to a European seller who then never sent the item. I had no recourse with Paypal because I didn't use them.

Does EBAY still accept check payments? I wonder what would happen if I put in my listings that I will offer an additional 10% off for check payments. I hate paypal.
