I am very sorry to hear this; you WILL win this, it's just a matter of holding out w/ the legal fees and such. With this kind of thing, it's a david vs. goliath issue.

I cannot believe that Paypal (and eBay) barely act on the seller's (actually their client's, as it's the seller that pays) behalf.

I still plan on filing a lawsuit against paypal. I am meeting with my BFF that is a paralegal this weekend hopefully. She already printed out all of the different forms, etc. that have to be sent to Paypal's agent for server of process.

Fu$& THEM! This whole situation is just so unbelievable. Paypal is just a scheming, crooked, fraudulent, money laundering organized crime group as far as I am concerned.

at this point, it is on PP to sue you for the $. send them a letter saying that unless you receive a court order, you will not return the money in dispute. Period. And that any attempt to report to credit or calls from collections will be considered harrassment. This is a contactual disputem so sue you for it. at least then you can show your evidence (but i doubt p p will take it that far!)

The whole collections bit is annoying. anyone can report a delinquency whether you owe it or not. no consequences for being wrong. 25 years ago i lost my loans for law school bc of a collections on my credit report. turns out i had paid it and was luckily using the cancelled check as a bookmark! it took months to sort out and i had to find alternative financing in between. no consequences for the bad report tho! over the years in paying back that loan it probably cost me an extra 5k in higher interest rates bc of it...

OMG, makes my $300.00 lose look like a blessing. Seems to happen a lot with International shipping. Don't sell to Private Feedback people. I'd be interested to know the user name for this buyer. Mine had 4 of them. Member id v***s5 ( private ) from London. Paypal told me file a claim with International Shipping but I found out the buyer's husband was an attorney. My buyer left such negative feedback that that caused me to stop selling for awhile and loose more money. I can't sell with such a rotten feedback posted. I am actually moving near an Ebay corporate office and I am telling you I plan on going in to talk to them about this.

Wow, I am not trying to be funny here, but after reading your case, 'HEY! it is so easy to scam sellers then maybe I could also try to pull a fast one' appeared in my mind AND on the other hand, it is so vulnerable to sellers and I really sad to hear this.

scamming is becoming easier and easier.. and when PP doesn't

even "challenge anything" the scammer has nothing to lose

only to gain...

OP, I am so sad for you, this is by far, the worst ebay situation I have ever read about, hands down:sad: Makes my $492 ebay loss look like pennies.

You seem like a good conscientious ebay seller. Ebay is a snake pit. It makes me never want to deal with ebay again unless the seller has a proven track record via word of mouth from TPFers.

I'm sure you don't want to think about selling anything these days but if you haven't already done this, have you considered consigning at reputable places like Ann's Fabulous Finds or Yoogi's Closet? I have had great purchasing experiences with them. You will not get a full cut of the profit but IMO, it's better than dealing with the snake pit that is ebay.

I just went through this thread and my heart breaks for you Kristie!

So sorry you are enduring this madness. I just said a prayer for you and hope that you win this battle. There are so many of us tPFers who are sending you good vibes (and, of course, prayers).

*shaking head in amazement at the gall and ability of the extremely wicked*

Sorry to hear what happened to you. I was scammed once buying the Chanel watch off Ebay through Paypal. Luckily I paid through my credit card and was protected from them not Paypal. I had the watch authenticated. I had to send the watch back to the seller by register mail. The credit card company will get the money from Paypal and paypal through the seller but that is not my problem cause I don't have to pay for that transaction. I don't think Paypal covers anything.

I was comtemplating of purchasing a birkin from an overseas seller for about 7800 euros buy reading all these scam cases online makes me so worried ;( R we too trusting of ppl? I mean, looking at the photos, the birkin really looks real but now I worry either it's a fake, I dun receive it or I receive something significantly diff from the pic. Any suggestions as to what I should do to safeguard myself if I'm really keen to purchase? Or should I jut drop the thought of buying.

After reading this post I feel so sad for u n I'm so worries I will be in ur position worrying about how to fight cases w paypal should it really happen to me... But I do love tt bag.

As a buyer, paypal will protect you in all those cases. Just make sure you do the transaction through ebay and paypal. Also, pay with a credit card through paypal. Just in case.

It is the seller that needs to be worried! Paypal seems to ALWAYS side with the buyer. I've stopped selling on ebay because I got so sick of being stressed out all the time. Thankfully, I never got scammed.

Thanks for the reply =) It does add assurance but im still afraid... Hahah gosh im at a dilema now...

oh my gosh! i'm so sorry to hear what happened! It's so pathetic how people can be these days. My parents got robbed around $60,000 from one of my dad's "friend." Its ridiculous how selfish people are.

first, there are many honest sellers on ebay.. the gal who started

this thread was an honest seller of a birkin bag and she had the

bag authenticated by a third party... have you had the bag

authenticated yet? and what kind of feedback does your seller

have?? have they sold upscale Hermes items?? is she saying in

her ad that the bag has been authenticated from Hermes with

perhaps a spa receipt... last but not least, if you have any

reservations about completing this transaction, go with your gut and

just pass
