OMG, this is so so sad. I really can't understand this behaviour.

I was also a fan of a spanish forum in which we had a similar case. A girl showed off her fabulous life as a personal shopper, with a great wardrobe, great contacts and many parties with spanish socialités (like stylist Naty Abascal who I believe lives in US).
She also told everybody about her problems to beat anorexia, and the sad part was that many girls in the forum trusted and followed her as an example of how to beat this illness. Many members were encouraged to admit in public that they were also ill with either anorexia or bullimia.
It was really sad, we all believed her. She claimed to be ill in the hospital many times, where people sent her flowers, messages, etc.

Then she claimed to be getting married and the burst of the story was when she asked for a place to celebrate her marriage which had enough space for a helicopter to land. Apparently, she claimed that some of her guests would come in prive jets and helicopters.

Anyway, some of these people cause a lot of harm and pain to the members who are really suffering. In the case we suffered, people admited to be ill, to share their problems that even their SO's or families didn't even know.

I can't understand why there is such a person that entertains herself sharing disgraces with people who are really going through hard times.

Sharon, thank you so much for that. This depression has hit me very hard as I was always bubbly, energetic, enthusiastic and so up for a good laugh, that I found I did'nt have the experience to deal with it at all.I am on quite high AD's right now,but tell you what, the thing that helps the most is being on here chatting with you and Solitude and helping and advising other ladies and girls where I think I can.(I have made loads of freinds on other bits of this site too!And we will all be meeting up early next year!)

And yes retail therapy is just great for lifting your mood, maybe if it isn't for your DH!!!
(Btw,I think your a very good person too,and your house sounds very cool!!!)

Its nice to have somewhere to go in the day and have intelligent and thought provoking conversations and get to see the other side of things. The fact I feel useful and helpful is fantastic therapy for me so I give whatever I can for free,as what I get in return you just could not put a price on.

Yes, feeling useful and productive is what brings out our best. When you feel productive you are truely living. Everything falls into place and feels right when you feel that you have made a difference somewhere! Sometimes it takes a whole lifetime to realise that. And I agree 100%, the satisfaction from feeling like you are doing something well, being valued as a contributing member, its pretty priceless!

I personally have been on hundreds of sites, but some become too heavy. This one has the right balance of great women and great eye candy. Talking about diamonds and jewellery is like therapy for me!!!!! (Long term therapy!!!!)

This is so bizarre - I feel like such a douche for believing her!

Oh well I suppose that's the point for people like that...:confused1:

Personally I like tPF, it's brilliant having a place where I can be completely trivial and feminine - I work in litigation, it's a pretty uptight environment, plus I'm studying a Masters part time, so when I'm not at work being professional, I'm at uni and have to be focussed and intellectual. I really like having a place I can come to where I can discuss stuff like purses and pets and news and beauty and relationships. And of course jewellery, with like-minded people who are knowledgeable and can advise if I have a question. And then of course there are the times when I can give advice or just enjoy someone's new purchase or a special time in their life.

I know Swanky was saying before that this happens pretty regularly - I still can't really believe it, it seems so weird?! I don't know how the mods would be able to catch people like this...

Let's all hope she doesn't come back to play us, and on to the next fantastic jewellery thread:tup:

This is so sad. I feel sorry for her and really gullible with myself for believing her, even thinking that was her picture. I even posted that I wanted to come back as her in my next life--ha, ha! It goes to show you that being who we are is not so bad! At least we are genuine. And there are so many great, honest people on TPF, you always come across a bad apple now and then anywhere you go.

Just for my own clarification since I am fairly new to TPF--why at the end of some of Bee..Bee's post is there a notation to the effect of "please keep all the drama out of your signature..." I don't think I've noticed this anywhere else and I don't know quite where to ask this question. I hope I'm not stiring up a hornet's nest (or a bees) by asking. I'm just curious.

Thats exactly what I get out of here, and like Bitten says, its nice to have a place to come and be girly, share info, learn things and most of all make freinds!!! I am meeting lovely well balanced women from all over the globe that without here I would never have had the joy of getting to know!
I remember people like Bee Bee from the school yard, big talking, self absorbed, thoughless show off who tried to make themselves popular by lying through their back teeth. Nothing was ever gained from it except humiliation when it all came out and then they were ignored from then on in and ridiculed every time they said anything. Some people never learn. They should because as you grow up you begin to realise there is nothing to gain in this behaviour except enemies, certainly not freinds.

No hornet's nest - you can't put certain information in your signature. Bee..Bee obviously had something inappropriate or not within the forum rules in her signature and one of the mods caught it and changed it.

BTW welcome, though it's a little weird in here just now...

Indeed. Smiling ironically...

Someone asked me how I got to go to the Chopard 'workshop' thingy where I got to try on a seriously ridiculous 23 carat ring (per this thread). The answer was because I somehow gathered enough money for a bracelet recently and making myself broke in the process :sweatdrop:.(LIAR,LIAR PANTS ON FIRE!!!!)

As every lady knows, I am very lazy(liar more like) :p but I did wear it to a house gathering this evening and I got someone to take a pic of it using a phone and the pic is actually not too lousy. So here it is:

Well she had me duped. I suppose she has been lying so long that even she has trouble distinguishing the truth anymore.
What I wish is that she would come on the forum one last time and tell the truth.....who she is; what her life is really like; and what she was thinking when she told all those untruths. I wish that she would have the courage to do that for us.

I know she was full of sh*t and that's why I never responded to any of her posts/threads. IntlSet and others knew she was a phony from the get. I found her posts hella fun, though, esp. the ones in the Money forum.

That we find out about people like this is really a testament to the breadth of knowledge and experience that our members have. I've had my eye on her for a while after a member whose SO is an investment banker told me that she had her SO look at some of her posts about her job (Bee also claims to be an i-banker) and that he said they looked like they were written by a freshman finance student trying to show off - she used a lot of jargon that the vast majority of people on here wouldn't understand, but how she was using it made no sense. the words didn't mean the things that she was using them for, but someone who wasn't in the industry wouldn't know the difference. I trust this member a great deal, so ever since then, I've been waiting for her to slip so we could prove she was a fraud. it took her a while to slip in a provable way (although i think most people agree that most of the things she wrote about were so fantastic as to be hardly believable). This morning, member Lilach did the work for me - the link to her post and a link to the picture were in the email boxes of all the mods. I don't know how she found it, but I'm glad she did!

IntlSet + Amanda =
