To be honest miacillan I walked into H store in Rouen and got my very first birkin in the size and colour I wanted,I was very lucky and could hardly believe it after all the stories I have read here, the store was very quiet and the only SA that was there was very friendly.
Im sure it really is down to luck.

I have had only good luck at FSH, but from what I read here it really sounds unpredictable. Totally agree with miacillan that it's better to keep an open mind about it.
I used to think that it's a no brainer to travel to Paris for Hermes, but now I feel you should go if you would be happy with taking the trip regardless of the Hermes outcome. It's just too much pressure and I'd rather enjoy the trip for its own sake. I wouldn't want to go to Paris and spend so much time going back to the store over and over again.
Sometimes when something is so hard to find it makes me want it more. But lately I've been feeling the opposite.

No luck in Paris, ladies. Everyone was asking for B & K left, right and center. I saw people settling for the Jypsiere. They had heaps of them at FSH. I did come very close to scoring a K in Amsterdam. I saw a lady checking it out (in the colour that I want!) and found out that she placed an SO for it. She was very indecisive so I whispered to another SA that I'd take it if she didn't...but she did end up buying it =( Oh well...next stop is Berlin. Wish me luck!

Hi Mia, Thank you for your post! You are right! the right strategy is really not to stress out too much about it. It just doesn't work that way. Hopefully I will get lucky some day soon~ Best wishes to you.....

Hmmm...what should I say. It is so NOT true that you need to buy like xxxx amount of goodies before FSH SA lets you see or buy or order a birkin/kelly. Nope it doesn't work that way there. Maybe in Asia or USA yes. I hear terrible stories about that a lot in Asia and USA. But not in France.

In Sept 2009, I only bought a few scarves. But I managed to order 3 special orders of birkins at the same time. I was a walk-in, never been to FSH in my whole life. It was like a market there. LOL!

Really...it depends on the SA you meet that day. It is by pure luck. If the SA likes you, you're in luck. If he/she doesn't like you, then that's it. You will always get a "no" for an answer. It is the chemistry. Sometimes you get a no, sometimes you get a friendly smile, sometimes you meet a chatty SA, sometimes you meet a snobbish SA. Oh well, that is the "fun" of it. ;)

I would say, the correct strategy is, don't stress out too much about birkin/kelly. It is just a bag. Sometimes, good things happen when you least expect it. ;) Good luck to everyone!

Did you see any Lindys while you were in Paris?

Good luck in Berlin!

No I didn't visit Munich unfortunately...

I am in Prague now. Their H store has a Kelly in wicker but I'm not interested. I didn't think it'd be that hard to buy a normal Kelly bag...sigh...

Hope you have better luck elsewhere on your travels. ;)

Hi all,

i am a newbie here in this forum. Just want to share my recent experience in FSH.
My bf had been checking into the store for me for the pass days (he works in Paris), and unfortunately the answer is always "NO". and another "NO" for to be on the wait list.

however he did spoted a dark brown Kelly (men size) in George V, not my thing, so if any one interest, take your chance.

meanwhile, i will continue hunting FSH until they give me the "YES" LOL :D
