I don't have anything from the Los Feliz line, but according to the measurements on lambcollections.com it's really similar to the Oxford (1 inch shorter). godsgirl619 maybe looking at some Oxford pics would help?

hi there, this is my first post so i hope it's in the right place, if not i'm really sorry!

i work at a charity shop and we get a lot of fake bags, i'm used to identifying them by now, but on saturday we had a most unusual donation brought in; a black patent bag in a vivienne westwood dustbag. the woman that brought the bag in was very well spoken and said the bag was simply too big for her, according to the woman that took the donation; generally you can tell from the donator if the item is real or not, but this one has me stumped!

i don't have any photos unfortunately as the bag only came to us yesterday and i didn't have my camera to hand, but i took a long look at the plates, the zips, the stitching and the lining and everything to me looks very professional, but that doesn't mean much nowadays unfortunately!

i've been beavering away to find some information on the make online but it's definitely not current season and the closest i've been able to find is the empire bowling bag (http://www.net-a-porter.com/product/24440). it is pretty much identical to that bag, only it's in black crocodile skin print.

my question is, does anyone know if that make was released in black, or was it just grape and blue? or does viv have any bags similar to the empire bowling bag in black crocodile print? the dust bag it came with was not a typical westwood dustbag, but something about it didn't look fake.

i'm sorry i can't provide pictures, but hopefully someone will know more about vivienne's bags than i do! really once i find out the make, it'll make identifying the bag a lot easier. (: thank you!

Hi Metascience~~!

I'm a bit of a lurker around here, but I do stalk VW bags quite a bit.. and I know for a fact that the empire bowling bag comes in many different skins+colours.. so much that it's hard to keep up!

Anyways, am wondering if this is the bag you have in your hand..

http://www.luisaviaroma.com/index.a...orColor=TkVSTw==&season=actual&seasProdID=52I

It's crocodile skin.. but you initially mentioned 'patent'.. which if I recall, there was one in black patent too... so not 100% which one you're referring to.. Anyways, hope it'd be helpful!

Cheers~ =)

thanks for the reply!

i did wonder if that was indeed the same bag, but the zips and the orb on this bag are more more similar to the empire bag i posted above, the orb is plain gold and the zips are the zig-zag shape with the vw orbs on them.

the leather is a very shiny crocodile skin, so i assumed it was patent, though i am not an expert on the fabrics so i could well be wrong.

thank you for your help though, if the bag does come in more colours than the grape and blue i managed to find, it could well be that it comes in black too. i'm going back to the shop tomorrow so i'll have to take some photos with me to compare it to!

i saw a very nice, conservative yet cool leather bag on the subway today -- i kept angling to try and read the name on the leather strap -- but couldn't quite tell. i THOUGHT maybe it said vivienne westwood. but not sure she would make such a conservative saddle looking bag

i kind of like her logo!

i googled....

PS. the photo is NOT the bag i saw on the train at all... i just thought it was interesting :)
