Not till recently I started to admire and buy Vintage Coach. There are so many beautiful bags out there, but when budget only allows a couple, I have been trying to find those styles that "to me" are unusual, so I went to Pinterest and did research on a few that caught my eye.
Thanks to whateve that educated me in this style, now I got a 9851 Saddle Bag. Perfect for the upcoming seasons :smile:View attachment 4331569 View attachment 4331570 View attachment 4331571
Nice looking bag! I don't recall seeing a Saddle Bag from the two-tone Spectator series before. The contrasting trim looks great with the White (or is it Bone?) leather.

Nice! I have one of these in British tan.

Thanks! It is bone.
I asked in another thread about it, I do not know if the Spectator line came later.... trying to learn.

It looks like the Spectator Collection was introduced in the 1989 Fall Preview Catalog:

This 1989 catalog image shows the Madison Satchel and the Dinky Spectators in Bone with Tabac trim:

Later, more styles were added to the Spectator series, like the Binocular Spectator, Spectator Court Bag, and others.

There was also an earlier sort-of-Spectator line called the Twill Collection that used twill fabic with slightly darker Tan or caramel-color leather trim that was available in Summer of 1986 and included the Musette, Classic Shoulder Bag, Handle Portfolio, Dinky, and Saddle Pouch among others.

You don't see them often, I got lucky and found a Large Saddle Pouch from that line a few years ago.

Interesting! Thanks for that additional information and a catalog page I'd never seen before!

I had a question, I recently purchased a coach Station bag. It was listed as a Willis station bag? When I tried to do some research on it I saw other websites stating this. Is that the correct name? Or are they mislabeling it?

It's very common for sellers to mislabel Station and Willis bags. In this case, the misinformation has spread to the point that sellers often use both names to get more views on their item, regardless of which style it is.

The Station Bag (style #5130) does not have a dowel.

The Willis Bag (style #9927) has a dowel.

Thank you for getting back to me. Do you know the year the station bag was released. Also is the station bag considered vintage?

I don't know what year the Station Bag was released, probably early to mid-1980s. Someone else may have a more exact date.

A bag is considered vintage if it's more than 20 years old.

The 5130 Station Bag was introduced in 1983 as the Shoulder Pouch Large.

Can anyone provide more information about this bag? Whateve posted about it a while ago, but I couldn't find any follow-up. Please let me know! Thank you!
