Rock that Star Wars t-shirt!
Sorry, I got distracted lol.
So, and please correct me if I'm wrong, when we say Nubuc is the Debil, we mean hot mess, bargain basement Nubuc , right??
This bag looks decent to me. Not interested, Nubuc doesn't do anything for me. Or will dunking it trigger the appearance of something God-awful?

I’m wondering what the seller is not showing? I bet those handles are a greasy hot mess at the top.
IMHO, I wouldn’t even buy a Nubuc if it claimed to be “Deadstock, NIB, NOS with paperwork signed in Coach blood from Original NYC loft apartment.....”
But, that’s just me. Just the word “nubuc” makes me shutter.

Can you provide measurements? I found a 1963 Saks ad in my files, that shows a similar bag, called a "long overarm tote with outside purse." This was around the time Bonnie Cashin was working for Coach, although the ad does not appear to mention Coach. If @RL Bernstein is around she should be able to tell you a lot more about it.
Indeed, it appears to be one of the several Over-Arm Tote styles that were produced in the 1960s. Interestingly, I've seen variations of this particular BC style that were produced under COACH's label (with the "A Bonnie Cashin Design" credit), under the BC for Sills label, as-well-as under Bonnie Cashin's own Cashin-Carry label. I've yet to validate the chronology of the various linings that were used in the COACH bags (plaid, three-color stripe, rainbow stripe, solid). So placing a specific age to it is beyond me. From what I've seen, the details of these early BC designs were quite fluid with dimensional and configuration changes seemingly implemented from season to season. The one you found appears to be an excellent example of this genre though. Very nice. Why can I never stumble upon such finds?

Red Ranch bag (I think)at an OK price..... saw this and thought someone here should have it

The actual name is Shoulder Pouch or Drawstring Pouch, I think. It came in two sizes, according to catalog pics I saved somewhere. The front section under the flap is closed by a drawstring. No drawsring in the Ranch. And the Ranch wasn't made in red, @whateve and I were posting about that at some point.

OK thanks, here's a comparison, with slightly different measurements, and different lining:

Post your vintage/classic pieces here!

Does yours have a slip pocket on the back?

ETA: There's a time limit for editing your posts, I'm not sure how long you have, but you'll see an EDIT link on the bottom left side of your post if you can still edit it.

That is very similar but it does look longer. . . there is no slip pocket on the back of my mother's piece. Thanks!

Thanks for the information! It is a really wonderful bag! I found it in my mom's closet after she passed away. . . I never remember her carrying it! I think I saw it in a picture of her. If I can find that picture again, I will post it!

What is "HG"? At the risk of sounding stupid...

It’s a good day ladies and gents! I won an HG this weekend!
Keep looking, they are out there!!

4085 Travel Tote!

Holy Grail I think.

A holy grail bag is one that isn't found to purchase too often, and finding it in great condition makes it even more desirable. And it is generally different for every person.

Oh okay. I'm not sure what that bag is but, cool!

It is my holy grail list. Everyone list of must haves are different. I consider it to be bags that are often elusive and hard to find. I have a few I’ve been looking for for a bit. It’s hard to find when most items are not listed correctly. So, like most, it’s just searching listings when I can.
I love this big bag and paid, IMO, a nominal amount. Win, win.
I can’t wait to see it person. It looks to be in excellent condition.

I hope it's even more beautiful in person. :)

This is on my list of desired finds, too. Have always loved this style.
