That's what I was intending to do too because I would rather use her or eBay's label to send the item back. I think she called eBay after my offer to help with shipping and that's what she said eBay said. I plan to give eBay a call later to confirm and see what my options are.
Thanks again whateve!

Even with all your help whateve, it still seems I have almost managed to mess up the process at the last step!
I just spoke with eBay and the CSR said I shouldn't be sending anything back at my cost, and that basically, I would be proceeding at my own risk. She said I should be using a label that the seller provides. I went to look at the seller's last email to me again and she actually told me to just get her address off of the box that came to me... what if there was a mistake or typo?? Honestly I am not interested in any chance of mishap at this point. So I just emailed the seller letting her know that I will need a shipping label from her or I will have to ask eBay to step in...

ETA: Checked the box again and the only address on it is mine.. eBay put a new shipping label sticker over it that completely covers her info.. I guess that's the way it protects sellers' info.

The reality is , she just wasn’t thorough enough in her pics and she has to literally pay for it. I could be wrong, but it sounds like you want to mitigate the cost for her, with an expectation that she will appreciate that. The reality is that she sounds unhappy with having to accept the return (of a stained bag, which she now has to attempt to resell!) under eBays regs, hence she has no say in it, and you attempting to mitigate the cost is not changing the how she feels. She has the right to feel however she does, but that is her problem, not yours. If she was not thorough enough, too rushed or lazy or what ever to document the stain, it’s on her. Lol let’s hope she has girlfriends she can vent to lol lol!
If it was me, I would just return, get a refund, leave her a positive feedbag for doing the right thing and be done with contact and move on. You sound considerate, which is nice!

Thanks Lake Effect - I wasn't looking for appreciation from the seller nor do I plan to have any further contact with her after this. I just want to be kind - good karma - i guess. Unfortunately eBay's system does not seem to allow that and she didn't even try to make it easier for me, so now I have no choice but to ask her for a return shipping label.

I don’t mind sagas, lol. I post to unwind, at times lol. Lol coffee time on a Saturday morn *catching up* with my Coach crowd here lol.

I agree! I'm so happy I found this forum! None of my girlfriends are into bags so I have no one to share this hobby with. I've been posting mostly because I'm looking for help but I also love looking at the absolutely gorgeous bags and appreciate the stories that people on this forum are sharing!

Thanks so much! Sadly, it's not the glovetanned leather! I wish that Coach had designed a bag like this in their vintage leathers because those leathers are to die for. This is a stamped, textured leather…more similar to saffiano leathers, but IMHO nicer  I'll attach a photo of how the handle is stitched to the top! Happy to help; let me know if there's anything else

Thanks so much - so glad the pics helped/enabled!:biggrin: I love finding purse-kindred-spirits-twins on here! What a great place :flowers::flowers: Agreed, I'm super tempted by the Drake (thanks whateve for comparison shots!) but I've gotta pace myself!

Thanks for the photos bellebellebelle19! I think the glove tanned leather would actually be too soft and the shape of the bag would eventually be warped as a result, so it's a good thing that the bag is made of a different kind of leather. The shoulder straps are nice and practical, but I think the bag looks really good when carried with the top handle! I wonder if there is a way to reinforce the top handle so you don't have to be nervous about carrying it that way.

If she accepted the return through the return process, her next step would be to approve the label. She doesn't create that herself. Once she approves it, you'll get an email from ebay that will give you instructions to download the label. That is the only label you should use. If she hasn't formally approved the return, then she needs to do that. If she doesn't do it by a certain date, which is posted on the return request, you can escalate the case to ebay and they will give you the label then.

The interesting thing is that several friends have noticed my growing vintage assortment and are asking more questions in general about where do I get them, how much do they cost, what do I use to condition, etc. My niece is now interested in second hand Coach. She is picking up beautiful contemporary and now she is dabbling in thrifting vintage. Sniff. I'm so proud lol.

Thanks whateve that's good to know. I might have to let her know that. She is asking me for the weight on the box - well, it turns out eBay covered the seller's original label completely with its own label while it was processing the shipment... So I can only see my address and a big bar code.

Right, because it went through the global shipping program. Don't ship back on your own. Only use the ebay label.

Hi all - I used to do quite a bit of rehabbing five or so years ago, but work and life got in the way and I kind of fell off from the hobby. I gifted or sold most of what I had, but kept these three beauties. I still use them and have them on display in my guest room. I especially love the Navy Watermelon Tote because it came with all of its original paperwork!

This past weekend, I found a 9010 - gorgeous black suede duffle- at the local antique mall and think I am being bit by the bug again. I was diagnosed with MS back in December and am trying to really work on my stress management since it can cause relapses. So...I think picking this hobby back up could be a great stress reliever for me. I always learn so much from the great rehabbers here on tpf and look forward to seeing your great finds and rehabs!

Beautiful collection...the ones you just couldn't let go. I know the feeling!

Rehabbing is definitely a stress reliever for me too. Welcome back to the game, and please share pics of your duffle if you have a chance.

Anyone has any idea how rare the older Rambler (9735) is? And is it roomy? I'm looking for a bigger vintage Coach bag and the 9735 Rambler seems to fit the bill.
The original Rambler is pretty hard to find, especially in decent condition. They were (and still are!) well loved. Being roomy, they tended to be loaded up and carried heavy, which puts stress on any bag.

They do come up occasionally on eBay, often without the correct style name or number, so you have to look carefully, or get lucky. Hope you find one!

Here's a 1986 catalog pic:

They are popular, not really rare, but in demand usually when they come up. You should be able to get one about $100 if it's good condition. They are really soft leather and maybe that is why many of them have damaged edges.
