I don't know if the seller or ebay pays for the import charges. Hopefully ebay does, since I think they charge you more than your country would actually collect. You can continue to add to your claim so if you haven't already, upload the picture of the stain and mention that the listing says there were no defects. Ebay generally considers anything preowned to potentially have stains, so you need to stress that the seller's description said it was in excellent condition and the stain wasn't mentioned or shown.

Thanks for the tips! I'm going to go add to the request. I can't thank you enough whateve!!!

If you post pictures in the return request i don't see how the seller can claim they're not there so ebay will likely side with you.

Once I did have a bad seller with a poor description try to refuse a return and in the end I closed the return because I just didn't want to deal with her lying crap. I decided life was too short and left her a big fat negative instead!

Thanks for chiming in, Belicious!

Before I start again - I'm so sorry to be continually pestering everyone watching this thread about my problem!

The seller is offering to refund me the full purchase price of the bag (excluding shipping and import charges of course), and also let me keep the bag. I'm not a reseller, just a noob hobby collector that buys these bags because I enjoy looking at them and occasionally using them. And unfortunately I have no skill or time for any serious rehab work - this is exactly why I would not have bought the bag had i known about/seen the stain, because I have no use for it.

I would have thought it'd be better for the seller to just accept the return, since she would be able to then resell the bag. Based on the previous sales data that whateve found, even with the flaws disclosed I think she'd be able to recover the shipping costs related to my return - so both she and I could at least come out of this without any loss. Am I missing something here?

On one hand she is a seller with a perfect record so this could really just be a very unfortunate lapse. But on the other hand I just can't believe how she didn't see the stain! (I've also checked the box the bag came in and it's not like the stain somehow bled through the box from the outside during shipping..)

Since I'm also a newbie to eBay I just want to know if there are certain etiquettes around something like this. Out of the 8 purses I have purchased online (to date), the only other time this happened to me was on etsy. I accepted a small discount from the seller for some undisclosed, but very obvious pen marks - but that seller ended up thinking i was out to scam her and banned me from her shop! And now, more than a year later I still have never used that bag anyway... which is why i think I would've been better off insisting on the return..

She is going to lose a lot by paying for shipping both ways. And it is a lot of work to resell it when she is likely to only break even. That's why she is willing to give you a generous refund. If you have no use for the bag, you can still insist on the return.

Ooooooh luv it, what size is this? I would love a navy Madison in the Drake or the next larger size! Please let me know more details as you get it!
And I relate to being restricted regarding collecting (time, $, space).
Butttt, I just found out there is a Savers thrift shop an hours drive from me :yahoo:. So there may be a slight change in the $ factor lol.
If I could post the Madea clip singing *Hallelujah* I would. Lol
Modshots for you :) let me know if you have any more questions!! Excuse me for the poor quality background/outfit. It is a work from home day and things are quite messy so I tried to hide as much as possible   I am 5'6"/167cm and a size 6 for reference :)

Beautiful bag! Perfect for work too!
I thought the handle might be a bit awkward with the shoulder strap but actually it looks to be working really well in both options. How much does it hold?

Thank you!! I wore it to work here in this outfit!

Here's what fits inside and how I pack it. This is a little bit stuffed and I was nervous to hold it by the top handle for too long. I'd remove one thing like the mini notebook or the pink makeup pouch. But it fits my crossbody pouch stuffed with all my emergency essentials (SO MUCH STUFF), my phone battery, mini notebook, wallet, tissues, iPhone 6s, makeup pouch, key pouch, and my reusabe tote :)

I really wanted a larger purse because I need something that holds my pouch filled with my camera accessories, and this fits both my camera pouch and my crossbody pouch! :) I love it. Let me know if you have any more questions :)

Love the bag! It went perfectly with your work outfit. Excellent choice on the colour, it will go with everything. And wow it holds a lot! :)
I love how it looks like it will hold its shape really well. What is the material like? It's not the glove tanned leather right (or is it)? Also how is the top handle attached to the bag?
Thanks for answering my questions! And congrats again on the gorgeous bag!!

Thanks again for all the advice whateve!!

A mini update to my “saga” (no more novels i promise!)

I decided the bag really needs to go back but i also want to be considerate of the seller’s cost... in the (unlikely?) event that it was an honest mistake.. so i offered to pay for one of the two shipping charges - ie she sends me the return label and i’ll ask ebay to send her my original shipping charge. She accepted the return, but says because its international i should just ship the bag back and get the full refund. Her tone in the emails has just been unpleasant and she would not even do me the courtesy of sending me her address (essentially told me to go look it up on ebay myself). So I'm going out of my way and out of pocket to help her out and she could not even try to sound appreciative of that fact... maybe im just too sensitive. Though i am glad this is at least almost over!

The reality is , she just wasn’t thorough enough in her pics and she has to literally pay for it. I could be wrong, but it sounds like you want to mitigate the cost for her, with an expectation that she will appreciate that. The reality is that she sounds unhappy with having to accept the return (of a stained bag, which she now has to attempt to resell!) under eBays regs, hence she has no say in it, and you attempting to mitigate the cost is not changing the how she feels. She has the right to feel however she does, but that is her problem, not yours. If she was not thorough enough, too rushed or lazy or what ever to document the stain, it’s on her. Lol let’s hope she has girlfriends she can vent to lol lol!
If it was me, I would just return, get a refund, leave her a positive feedbag for doing the right thing and be done with contact and move on. You sound considerate, which is nice!
