what do you use for 'dye/recolorant'? i have a couple of gorgeous vintage bags that have faded edges; would love to touch them up, but want to use something permanent. i'm not reselling them, so not worried aobut that.
I used a Saphir brand product. Saphir was recommended by a poster here. Google the Hanger Project. That site gives a good overview of their products.
I had a black Plaza, bought on ebay that was slightly faded, uniformly, with the edges in very good condition. I used the Juvacuir Recolorant in their line. I did mix it with the better Cadillac conditioner. I was pleased with the result.
I also bought the Juvacuir in what I thought was dark brown (I need to go back and look at the order) because I do have a brown Ranch with faded edges. But the dark brown looks more like a coppery BT! So I mixed some with conditioner and applied to the faded/worn edges of a Compartment tote. It did not give full coverage of the wear. Tonight I will apply some straight, no conditioner, to see what that does. I do have a black Patricia with faded edges *in my pile* I want use it on well.

Latest vintage heart throb:
Bixby Sling #9984 in British Tan from 1996. This is a small round drawstring bucket, about 10.25 tall x 6" diameter with a sling strap. The leather is beautiful, thick and supple, and the color is rich. Most of the other drawstrings I looked at seemed too large for me. This one is petite and I love it!

Also pictured below is my current British Tan family, showing from left to right: 1980s NYC Companion Bag, the Bixby, and a 2003 Ergo.
