I have one too. It's called a Soho belted pouch. Mine was made in 1997 in the US. Not quite vintage, but almost. They hold more than they appear. It's a great size for me. And they are adorable!

Here's mine! In Toffee, lying out to dry after her dunk. Love these!

Hiya Mimmy ;

Are you perhaps a Vintage Coach Collector [ COACHIE ] :winkiss: or now becoming one if I may ask? :yahoo: Also, have you taken out your Darling Carlyle Handbags out yet "for a spin" so to speak, and if so, how did that go?

Hi fin! Nah, I am not a Vintage Coach Collector. The 2 Carlyles, and my 1 Soho are the only older Coach bags that I own. After browsing some threads on tPF, I have really come to appreciate the beauty and the quality of the older Coach bags![emoji8]

What a beautiful bag, Bucketbagger!

Very cute bags. I almost bid on one this week. It was a beautiful mint green color. Is it difficult to open and close the bag?

BUCKETBAGGER and WHATEVE ... so happy to see more colors in the little Soho belted bag. Coach does make such beautiful blues and yellows and this proves it!. MIMMY and MAIKO1, thanks for the compliments and for joining in!

Be careful to get them authenticated. I've seen several fakes of this style.

It is very easy to open and close. It looks like a buckle but it is just a magnetic snap. It opens up wide and is easy to close back up. I think it is easier to use than an actual drawstring.

To me, the only drawback to this style is that it only has one tiny pocket inside, pretty common with vintage bags, but this pocket is smaller than most - too small for my phone. It's hard to make a pocket with this kind of style.

Hi! I recently bought a bag on ebay (forgot to auth first! oops) but was wondering if anyone had experience rehabbing one that's camel colored. Most of the rehab tutorials I've seen are on black leather. Please let me know! Here's the bag, which I am hoping is authentic! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Brown-Leather-Coach-Purse-No-J4C-9870-/121875577770?ul_noapp=true&nma=true&si=vmactBJIGNX2y8rcdUmcsWh9yKs%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Please wait for another opinion as to authenticity.

As for the color (British Tan I believe), I've dunked that color and it comes out fine, with minimal color loss. Dunking, Leather CPR, a final coat of Blackrock Leather'N'Rich, and buffing with a horsehair shoeshine brush will improve it a lot and even out the color. If you want, you can use some Meltonian cream (Light Brown #6) mixed with conditioner on the worn corners.

The ink marks won't come out. About the best you can hope for is that they'll be less noticeable.

ETA: I see your bag was just authenticated on the AT thread....congrats!

I agree, although I've never used Meltonian. I always use craft paint that costs about $1 at Walmart.

Oh, the prices slay me! I have three of the four, but two were thrift store purchases. Are any of the stores still in existence? We received a wedding present from Goldwater's department store in 1981. Not a Coach bag, but a Couroc dish with a roadrunner embedded in it, which I used just the other night.

The growth of discount chains (Target, Walmart) in the 1970s took many of these upscale department stores out.

Goldwater's - sold to May Co. in 1986; dissolved in 1989
Bonwit Teller - bankruptcy, 1989
Dayton's - several incarnations; Marshall Field's in 1990, Macy's in 2004
Garfinckel's - bankruptcy 1990
