Shirley is finished! She arrived on Thursday and what an easy rehab. I liked her when I bought her. Now I absolutely love her! She makes me want chocolate though.

sigh...so pretty! I don't need one (I have a Musette) but I'm a little jealous.

Confusion on color.......please help!!! Now I know it's not an earth-shattering problem but I would love to know the true color of my new vintage Rambler.
I'll include some photos but after seeing some of the coach hang tag colors I admit to being totally confused.
I thought the bag was British Tan but now I'm wondering if it's actually Tabac.
Any opinions are welcome here.....

Well whatever color it is I like it. I guess I'm going to post the same thing every time someone posts a Rambler-I have one in Navy and I wish it was a different color. It's a great bag, I think I like carrying it better than my stewardess, but I'd carry it more if it was navy. For some reason I find that color boring. Need to get over it!

My new love arrived today and thought I would show her off! As beautiful as a vintage re-habbed Coach bag is, the feel and smell of a brand new one that has been lovingly stored in Aunt Dora's closet for 25 odd years is totally amazing! Paid $115 for this 9706 Slim Travel Bag, 7170 make up kit, and 7215 squeeze key case, all in Putty, in original boxes with tissue and papers!♡♥♡

Oh wow! I love it! Congratulations!

I had my '94 navy Madison Pierre and '96 green Madison Pierre side by side this afternoon, and I realized the straps are completely different lengths. The navy's strap was 8" on the buckle side, and 37" on the adjustable side, while the green was 17" on the buckle side, and 38" on the adjustable side. Out of curiosity, I measured the strap on my '93 Chapin, and it was roughly the same as the green Pierre. Neither strap appears to have been modified. Has anyone else's noticed such a big difference in strap lengths on these bags?

Wow, that is gorgeous! It is one of my favorite styles. Can you post pictures of the tags? My files call this style a skinny flight bag. It would be so interesting to see a tag calling it something else. Did Aunt Dora know exactly how old they are? The little catalog probably has a date code on it. Amazing price too for all that stuff! Where did you find it?

Oh, Aunt Dora was my favorite Aunt so I named the bag for her, as far as I know she never owned a Coach. The only date is on the "care" folder and it is 1986. I actually think the bag is earlier than that, though, although I read that New York City creeds may have been used into the late 80's. When do your catalogs show this style was made? The boxes havethe style numbers and the color only. I think the bag may have been used once or twice which is why the price tags were gone, but I don't see evidence of the accesories being used but their were no price tags. Skinny Flight Bag is its name, I was close with Slim Travel Bag, Ha Ha!

The correct name of this bag is a Skinny Flight Bag, I was close. Aunt Dora is real, God rest her soul, but she never carried this bag.

lol! The mini catalog has a 4 digit code on the front. I believe the first two digits are the year and the last two are probably the month. I think 1986 is very likely when it was produced. I have a 1987 catalog picture of it. They used NYC creeds up through 1989. There was an earlier (we think) version of this style that also has a NYC creed but has longer handles and no crossbody strap.

Where did you find this lovely set?
