Did Bonnie Cashin design the original Wills bags? I have two vintage ones and one of the new ones. I also have a NWOT Whitney in light tan. I have a thing for bags with wooden dowels.

Bonnie Cashin owned the patent for the turnlocks so if a bag has a turnlock, Bonnie Cashin designed it. I have a thing for wooden dowels too. :-)

Thanks, alansgail. It was pure, dumb luck that I found her. I do the search every single day and nothing ever came up. The day I got Shirley, I had done the search in the morning and nothing. For some reason unknown even to me, I listened to a little inner voice and ran it again and there she was. I was shaking when I saw her! I almost just bought her but then decided I should really look at the photos at least. I got shakier and had a hard time logging into PayPal - something I do all the time. I got it done though and as it happened, the bag was only about an hour from where I live so shipped on Tuesday and delivered on Thursday. I have been over the moon and doing the happy dance! :happydance:
So fantastic! Can you give the measurements please? Not that I want to be enabled or anything like that.......:giggles:

Ahh, never mind, just saw your post above!!

A Musette is on my list. I think they're awesome.

I love the Musettes too. I waited a long time to find one at a reasonable price. I finally found one for under $300.00 but it was a big job rehabbing it. It was well worth the work though. I've attached a couple of photos of mine.

It took me a few months to finish this bag while the mahogany Carrier was a piece of cake. The darker bags are much easier than the light colored ones.

Here are photos of my Carrier/Musette family of bags. I will post them from largest to smallest so you can get an idea. They are the Carrier (huge), the Musette (large), the Swag (more square), the Original Musette (white & smaller than the Swag) and the last three are the Organizer Pouch which is a flap bag but has the twin gusseted pockets. It is a large shoulder bag but not as big as any of the others.

Thanks for those! Honestly, though, I'll probably forget and get them all mixed up again the next time I'm scanning through eBay. I know me. LOL

Thanks so much for posting these photos showing the differences. Such great looking bags!

Wow! I'm happy for that seller but that bag was in too rough of a shape for me. Big re-hab for someone......

That bag is a mess and that price shows how crazy things have gotten. There is another pony express coming up but the starting bid for that one is $400.00 and the seller will probably get it. At least it's in decent condition. JMHO but I would not go near that style until things settle down again - and they will.

No matter how much I love a style, I make sure I don't get nutso. Just addicted. :-)

Hi GeorgiaGirl! Nice to talk to you again. The Carriers are really big but more plentiful than the others so there's a good chance you could find one for a reasonable price. On FB there's a LOT of groups and hundreds of collectors who are all after the same bags. That has really driven the market up. Hopefully, at some point, things will settle down again.

Oh, I'm not looking for one. I just like to post finds on here for stuff I see that others may be interested in. Problem is, I'm not as well-educated on vintage Coach as many of you. I had NO idea what a Pony Express was until a day or two ago. Never heard of it. I saw the $400 and was like "Whaaaaaaa? Are they nuts?" To me it looked just like a regular bag. (I mean no offense by that).

And, hey, you too! I just bought a Tomato Sonoma satchel off Etsy a couple weeks ago that had been on there for over a year. I love it! Been carrying it the past three days, and I swear the bag has never been used. It even still smells new. I also got an Italian Madison Collection dustbag with it that I wasn't expecting! Anyway, that makes six bags for me now and I really, really don't need ANY MORE. I am done for life unless one of mine literally gets a big rip in it or something.

I'm guessing the high price is due to it's rarity......you just don't see very many of them? I could be wrong but like you I had never heard of it either and I've had Coach bags for years!
