I was doing research and found if someone has a tracking number they can have a package redirected to another address. If we ship using Ebay shipping the tracking number is uploaded for us immediately.

Now I am a little worried that an expensive item could be redirected, and if it shows delivered to a different location than originally shipped to, that could be a big problem. I imagine it would mean the buyer would be refunded if they opened a case and said INR.

I need to list some of my Coach bags, so this concerns me. I've noticed some sellers put the tracking number up the day delivery is expected, maybe they are wise to this trick and that explains why. Have any of you ever had an issue such as this happen? Ebay says we must post tracking and it must be verified with a scan within x amount of time. This seems like a double edge sword we must navigate. I tend to overthink everything, am I doing that again....

I've never had that happen. I've been using eBay since 1998, and had a Power Seller business in the 00's. I've always used eBay shipping since it was first offered, which gives a tracking number before you even take the package to the PO. Beenburned is a wellspring of more up-to-date eBay information (but I don't know if she checks this thread), so you may want to ask her. But I think as long as you ship to the confirmed address in PayPal, you should be covered.

Yes, this is a question that should be posted in the ebay forum of tpf. I've never heard of anyone having this problem. If the tracking shows as delivered to the correct zip code, the seller isn't responsible if the buyer doesn't get it, as long as the total amount of the sale, including postage, was under $750. If the tracking shows delivered to a different zip code, then I believe you would be able to file a claim with the post office.

The only scam I've ever heard of is when a seller will ship to a different address from the buyer, but in the same zip code, so tracking will show it as delivered.

ETA: Ooh! It's Italian! Mine's American! Maybe I do need 2 afterall... :thinkin:
I think you need it for research. We need someone to compare the same style to determine if there is a difference between American and Italian red Sonomas. Then you need to find one made in Costa Rica.
