Congratulations! You're welcome! I would love to be a personal shopper. It is cheaper spending other people's money. It didn't stop me from buying something today though.

Is the riding bag supposed to have the strap inside out like this?

Here's my '96 Sonoma small flap 4919, in sea, next to a coke can for color reference:

Omw, I love this color! It looks a little darker to my eye than the pic shows (of course). It is a pretty spring green with a very slight blue undertone (maybe a gnat's lash bluer than typical seafoam). It is not as gray as I usually expect sage to be (the catalog photo Hyacinth graciously shared on the AT thread was labeled sea but looked like sage to me, but that could be for any number of reasons). It is in fantastic condition, except for the missing hangtag. Looks like a keeper for sure!

The strap isn't supposed to be inside out. It probably came off and someone put it back on wrong. You can work it off through the break in the ring and fix it.

Wow, those came quick! I love the sea color! I think there was also a sage which was more gray.

That's a pretty colour. It's quite different in colour to my Twin Zip which I call sage. I love the Sonoma colours.

It worked! Yay! You saved the day! :woohoo:
I was so worried it was fixed incorrectly by a cobbler or something somewhere down the line. The other part of the strap looks like it's been attached backwards for a looong time. I'm so relieved; I did not want the hassle of a SNAD. I think it will come out quite nice once I master this rehab process (going to practice on a couple of others first). It's got good bones; there's rubbing, but not through the piping.

They didn't come from very far away. I was pleasantly surprised, too. Thank you! I've been on a blue (and navy, teal, robin's egg, purple, and aqua) kick for a while now, but this color is special. Sage would have been ok, too, but I really like this one.

I can't hold this in any longer; I finally got a red Sonoma! It's not a flap but it's the next best thing. It's a pocket zip. I'll try to take a picture tomorrow. It's so beautiful!

Congratulations! That's actually my favorite Sonoma style because of all the compartments and pockets, but the strap is just too short for me, otherwise my closet would be full of them. Enjoy!

Yes, pics please.
Coming soon!

Thanks! I know the style works for me because I have it in grape nubuc. The only problem is sometimes I forget which pocket is holding the thing I'm looking for! I love the way there is no end of the strap flapping around.

I got a relative bargain too! Around $50, shipped.

Thank you:smile1: for all your kind and thoughtful responses. Donating is, i think, the way I'll go--and well before the inevitable i hope!!

Had cherished hopes that dd might become interested, but that doesn't seem likely:cry:

However, there's hope yet for dgd!! :graucho:

Seriously, i like the idea of donating. Also thought about giving some to the drama dept. at our local high-school--period color, you know!!

And then my other collections---sigh:nuts:

Of course, i could always just stop....nah:roflmfao::graucho:
After my mom passed away, my dad didn't know what to do with all her clothes and we agreed I would get rid of them. A lot of the stuff I gave to charity but my mom had a thing about hats. She had quite a few of them, fascinators and the like. I donated them to an amateur theatre group along with a couple of mink stoles and a fox fur collar (poor thing, biting his tail with his mouth!) They were thrilled with them, could just imagine doing a Noel Coward play. And I think my mom would have gotten a kick out of it, too.

Thank you. Your sage is a pretty color also. I knew I was going to love the color, either way. I believe I need to acquire more color samples.
Thanks. Of course you mean scientific samples, don't you? :graucho:

Congratulations. That's what your cryptic comment was about! Yes photos please! Is it as big as the large flap?
Pouches finally came from Goodwill, and they're brown! Even better! And a new red Patricia, which needs a bath.
Very nice. Those little pouches are tempting. I missed an auction for one the other day, darn it.

What a great idea!
I have this in BT. It is so roomy. I too love Sonomas but some of them can be quite heavy even empty.

You're right. I have a couple of large nubuc flaps and they weigh a ton when they're loaded up. I just won a large nubuc bucket, hoping that it might be a bit lighter without the flap. I prefer zip tops to flaps anyway.
