I have that in the green...I should let it go, I never use it but it's pretty!

Also I have the type of job where I could theoretically use a briefcase, I just don't.
It is gorgeous but very narrow. I don't think it holds much. I have the matching red card case. I'd love to have the lipstick case. I already have the lipstick case in granite that I never use.

A question for those of you who, (like me), collect and keep vintage bags.

At some point, most of us will need to downsize or otherwise divest ourselves of our collections of bags, or whatever else for that matter. (Went through this recently with parents. Very very tough.)

So: have you thought about what will happen to your stuff?

( I've labored along in the delusion that offspring would surely want my cherished things. Was told--gently--that it ain't necessarily so.)

Yes, I've thought about it. When my father died last year, my sister wanted to throw away or donate almost everything. I took a carload of stuff just because I thought it was too sad to have things that were important to him just discarded.

I have a spreadsheet of all my bags that shows what I paid for each. I hope they will at least use that to make sure they don't sell them at a loss! Hopefully, I still have many years left and will downsize my collection myself when the time is right.

Yes, my goal too is taking care of it myself. Would be adding insult to injury to expect my long-suffering DH to do it, should he survive me.

Watched my f-i-l descend rather quickly into dementia. It was too late then for him to make his wishes known. Am sure that a great many things they'd cherished were dealt with in a way they wouldn't have liked.

Have read recently that the so-called millennials keep their whole lives in a tablet or on a phone! They have no use for "things".

Oh well. They are ,after all, only things.

Guess the trick is knowing when to start divesting.

Thank you! I also traditionally like bigger bags & it looks a bit thin, maybe the classic duffle would be better :)
It depends. It is hard to make a decision without being able to try them on. The classic duffle looks ridiculous on me. I'm 5'4", which isn't exceptionally tiny, but it overwhelms me. I like the outside pocket on the Legacy zip. The classic duffle has a short strap.

Oh tough one I'm 5'3...my sister has a duffle but she's a few inches taller. I actually started looking at the zip because I love the look of the hermes evelyne but honestly I'd never spend that kind of money on a bag when I know coach is just as good in quality. Is the legacy zip very thin?

Dealing with this now with MIL, who is facing Alzheimer's. I will take some of her things like china and photos, but I just can't deal with all her ceramic birds. They are downsizing which will be hard enough for her - losing her things too will be harder.

Luckily I think my daughter will take care of my bags. In a small house we don't have a lot of room for big collections, so I guess I'm already downsizing.

Yes, I've thought about it. Several years ago I went to an estate sale where the couple had moved to assisted living and left everything behind. The thing that really got me were the dresser drawers full of old underwear. I vowed that would never happen to me.

I have bought around 40 bags the past few years. This is too many, obviously. In addition to a bunch on shelves in my closet, I have two big plastic tubs full of them. I'm planning to pare down to just the ones I really really love. I don't have to necessarily use them, just love them.

I will probably donate a number of them to a thrift store that I support. The money goes to programs that I like such as a food pantry for low income seniors. Their handbag person recognizes Coach bags and prices them accordingly. I've already started donating some. Because all of them came from thrift stores, I don't have a lot of money invested. The most I spent was $70 for a backpack from Goodwill that had never been used and still had its original tags. Most were in the $20 to $30 range, and some under $10.
