I would probably replace the belt with a twilly or a strip of salvaged leather in a coordinated color. Lots of creative possibilities with this oneI wonder why people are bidding? How are they going to replace it? I've seen people carry this style with the belt open. I think it only looks cute when it is closed.
I wonder how they got it out. I just tried with mine and the ends are too wide to fit through the loops.
I don't know about that particular one. The pouches I have look like this:I have a quick question and I hope someone here can help. TIA
I was just wondering which time frame, Coach used to include these little fabric pouches with inserts and the registration card. When did they stop more or less.

I'm not sure about the registration card. I'm pretty sure I got it with the bags I bought late 70s and 80s. I don't actually remember getting the pouch but I must have.Thank you so much whateve, yes I was wondering about the little bag you show but I couldn't find a sample on line, so I included the one similar.
And the registration card (folded in half brownish paper), from the same 70s 80s or later? I realized I have many incorrect notes, that I am trying to update. Thanks again.
Anyone have advice for downsizing a vintage collection? I have too many bags taking up space that I just don't carry. I have some Bonnie Cashin and pre-creed or otherwise hard-to-find or special bags that I don't want to part with, but I'm not sure how to weed through the rest.
For example, I have a Post Pouch that is so small that I barely use it, but the idea of selling it pains me. On the other hand, I'm selling off my dinky bags. How do you decide what makes the cut and what goes?
I also have this problem. I sold off a lot of too small bags like the post pouch years ago, and that one I kinda regret. I also sold off big ones like the Carrier bag and that one I also regret because it turns out I could've used it bc of the pandemic changing my job so now I have to take more stuff like a laptop around with me. I didn't see that coming. And it's not like I can just buy another one. Those are pricey. Also I regret selling a couple of rare pre creed ones bc I just wanted the money. But it's dumb bc I still have sooo many.
I have an absolutely stupid amount of bags and there are always some poorly stored bc nowhere to fit them. I recently sold 6 on ebay but I've already lost steam doing that. I was able to choose out 10 I don't care about, have never used, or have 2 of. I need to pick up steam on selling some more. I do have about $200 coming from ebay so maybe when it comes through that will make me want to work at it some more.
All you peeps with too many bags, what is "too many" to you? Once I counted... and I actually couldn't end the counting because it got too silly that I kept finding bags I had missed counting because they're all over the place... Anyway, it was 150 plus! LOL Then it took me a year but I kept track of selling and buying and reduced to around 100. And that was 4 years ago so who knows really how much I have now. Stopped paying attention. But I would rather now judge by what I can look after and what makes me happy. And I know I have some in my collection that make me sad bc I discover irreversible damage from mold spots, things like that, but I don't want to get rid of them. Why?
This is where I am as well. As I run out of space, I ask myself “What am I doing?” A little while ago, I decided I was going to rescue all of the inexpensive duffle sacs. I now have five black ones to sell!! Was I nuts? It was a way to justify buying when I already had an identical item. Crazy, right? I think we all like the thrill of the hunt. I’m trying to channel that into the thrill of the sale. I’ve sold more than 25 bags in two months. And my daughter and daughters-in-law don’t want them. Duplicates and ones I don’t use have to go. Otherwise they’ll wind up in a landfill when I’m gone. I’ve thought about this a lot. And I’m at peace with it. Anyone who saw the saddle duffle bag (brand new) I bought last week—there are now two more bags ready to be photographed and listed this week. Things have got to go and I’m the only person in my family who knows their value. Rant over!
I shared a picture awhile back, of 1 small smidgen of the "rehab pile." Like others have mentioned, the bags have taken over my home. They're everywhere, and my husband keeps wanting me to put them in bins pending rehab/sale/determination of whether to keep or not. I do that, but then I forget what's in there.

Hey gang if you are wondering why you getting my reactions from old posts, haha late to party as usual! Just quoting some things here I really really appreciate!!! I was actually looking for something else and came across these posts. I plan on reading through here and probably AT and RR to get current.I am buried in bags also. I have to keep expanding my shelving. Basically use ikea LAC tables and stack them about 4 high on both sides of my bedroom. I have 17 newer coach style bags, 49 vintage coach bags, 26 wallets-card cases, 6 bag charms, 16 miscellaneous and jewellery items. I am a sucker for colours and turnlock bags if I can find them for less than $100. The only vintage bags I am trying to find are olive, htf purple, lavender, white, hunter green, tangerine, bordeaux, kiwi leaf and jade green in my budget. My mom calls me a coachaholic.
50 to 60!!....ummmm...maybe my over 200...100+ being Coach is a bit excessive!Hey gang if you are wondering why you getting my reactions from old posts, haha late to party as usual! I ‘reacted’ to your posts in that I could relate to and that I appreciated the level of honesty there.
Last August I sprained my low back badly and was recovering from that, which more or less rolled into a mammogram in October, and you may know that rolled into a breast cancer diagnosis etc… all is well nowSo now I am in catch up mode.
I must have around 50-60 bags, mostly vintage Coach. I know I have a hard to find vintage Dooney in there too. Now that I have enough brain cells to spare coming out of treatment I can focus on my bags I am looking forward to paring down. I need to (re)organize how my bags are stored (which is what I was contemplating this time last year), list, organize, get a real number. See how many need rehab. I know that I have really enjoyed the hobby of refurbishing vintage Coach. And will continue that. I am going to get myself on a selling platform in 2025 and would love to sell at least a third of them. I have a mental list of the styles that don’t work for me. I love my black Saddle bag and Berk Flap, but I hate holding the flap open against my body to get tish out of it! I love my humble distressed City bag. I reach for it so often. I enjoy looking at my small bags; they may be the last to go. I swear my cute little Winnie found at the bottom of a random pile of bags at a flea market for $3 or 4 dollars is really a metaphor to be open to being surprised by the Universe …
I too was afraid to get a true count, like somehow I owed someone (who? the world) an explanation. Now I am single, so I understand if you share space or finances etc with your hubs, there may be ’splaining, but that is not my case. But I did spend a bit of time over the last 6-7 months thinking about what I would do with my hobby as I emerged into a new normal. I really enjoy refurbishing and my finds so screw the number! My purchases were well within my means so it wasn’t like bills weren’t being paid. Count them up and round them up. Spruce them up and get selling.
Or at least take pics and share them here.to ya for my ramble!
I am looking forward to getting actual number. Well, we are enthusiasts!50 to 60!!....ummmm...maybe my over 200...100+ being Coach is a bit excessive!
I have not used acetone/wipes but I thought I would give this a bump. Can anyone recommend a brand of acetone wipes that work well to remove paint....or shoe polish?
In the beginning I didn't keep track but I starting selling almost immediately - when I bought bags on ebay that I hated at first sight. Then it was important to me to keep track of how much I paid so I could tell how much I lost on my buying mistakes. I've kept spreadsheets since 2011. Sometimes I wish I was ignorant of how much money I have invested in my collection.I am looking forward to getting actual number. Well, we are enthusiasts!
As I recall, yours are well stored!
I had the same problem with my Biltmore in dark green. I found a really pretty chain on Coach.com and it looks great. I will try and post a pic tomorrow. It is 4:30AM and not perfect picture environment.Hello!
I recently purchased a Madison Biltmore #4417 (see pic), however, it didn’t come with a strap. I’m looking for a replacement but it’s proving to be quite difficult.
So, I’m considering placing a custom order with DYP. Would anyone with this bag please provide the measurements of the strap (length and width in cm or inches).
Thank you much!!!
