A cautionary tale for any vintage newbies. I have a pile of duffle sacs to rehab and sell that is larger than I want to admit. For the longest time, one would come in, be worked on immediately, and be listed in a matter of days. I've lost that mojo and things have piled up. Meanwhile, while amusing myself on the Coach website, I (virtually) added embellishments (pins, rivets, stars, etc) to a small duffle on site. It looked amazing ( I love shiny things) and I decided to embellish one of my 'extra' duffles. Otherwise, what good the 'insiders' perk? I had two black duffles to choose from, and rehabbed both. One was made in Italy, one in Hungary. What leather!! After the grime of the previous owners was gone, they were both fabulous bags. What's a girl to do? Even DH, who indulges me but will be brutally honest when I request, said both were in excellent shape. Again, what's a girl to do??

Keep both, of course! I will embellish one--soon, I hope. I feel like Michael Corleone. Every time I think I'm out....

So hey hey, it feels like forever! Like @Roro posted yesterday, I’ve been away from rehabbing and despite having a pile of bags in various states of rehab, and of course not even started, this bag caught my eye and the next thing you know, my offer was accepted! It’s a beast  Why do I think bags with a kisslock are going to be tiny?? The straps are in bad shape but since my mocha kisslock Soulder Purse came out beautifully, other than the straps I am cautiously optimistic for this sweetie pie! image.jpgimage.jpg

You can always replace the straps with chains. Some early versions came with chains.

This Courier looked gorgeous.
It seems like it sold quickly. I was lucky enough to buy a BT Carrier Bag early last year and the leather on it is fabulous. The leather on this Courier reminded me of it. :girlsigh:

I hope some of the long time collectors here might be able to help me and TIA.
I have this Madison Regis made in Italy in 1997. I have been checking all the catalogs I could find from 96/97/98 and the only blue color I can find for the Madisons is Navy, that on pictures looks much darker, this one looks like Cobalt blue.

Any idea of what Coach called it?

This is such a fun style! I took mine with me on a day of shopping and I loved how the little feet sounded when I set the bag down at the checkout counter. I was also very surprised at how much I could fit inside of it. I hope you enjoy it! I got mine in a trade with our lovely @LunaSilver and she had done some really nice work repairing the straps. I had a hard time finding the repaired spot.

This is one of the styles I keep watching for in a rare color at a reasonable price. Not so funny how a "reasonable price" today would have caused me to pass out just a few short years ago though.

So, I've obtained this (seems to be) rare bag. Green "marble bag." The rehab is in process. I can't get over how cute this style is. It might be the cutest shape Coach bag I've ever seen. I like everything about it, top to bottom and side to side. It's dark green, but it looks almost black in these photos, because it's still damp from its bath.

I LOVE this bag! I love the detail and shape. Congrats on your casino win, I can't wait to see all the lovely bags you pick up! Your blue Courier left me speechless. And jealous.

Hey Morgan! I was hoping you might chime in some moral support here! I love  your rusty version of the bag and was going to tag you at some point. That is good to know that Luna Silver repaired your straps. I will find your pics and take a good look. The rest of the bag, fingers crossed, should rehab nicely if it follows the trajectory of my lil mocha Shoulder Purse. I have a few ideas for repairing/ replacing the straps …
I am lovingly haha glancing at it in its box! I am going to work on a black knapsack later … finding my rehab mojo.
I hear you about what is reasonable!!! I am glad I had time and energy going back a few years to scour online listings and hit a few flea markets for my deals. When I look and see what Coach is selling a bag for that I found last year essentially unused at a flea market for $10 :wtf: … I can understand why online sellers are hiking their prices. I don’t like it, but I understand. I’m just glad we have our premium authentication service here!!! At least if I pull the trigger for $$$, I can be sure it’s the real deal.
My plan for 2023 is to rehab more, buy less! I know, wish me luck ;)

LunaSilver might have posted pics during the repair process. I think I just posted pics of enjoying my unique bag! I really love it, I never expected to appreciate it so much.

I agree with you about pricing and rehabbing. I also have a mountain of bags to rehab so I have no business shopping right now. And the prices are so shocking in some cases, especially considering the condition of some of these bags. I have a short list of bags that I will purchase the next time I see them but other than that I'm committed to my bag ban. I hope we can enjoy our inventory of rehabbed bags this year!

I have NOT rehabbed for so long that I have to learn everything all over. First I have to put the hardwares back on to a few bags that are done but I didn't put them back on from sheer lack of motivation.
Me too! I rehabbed 2 Tribeca totes last year and that's about all I've done in such a long time. I don't know where my motivation went either.

I want one now!… is it heavy? Will those straps be sufficient enough to handle the weight? Please tell me the negatives so I can save my money!  (Who am I kidding…)

I have a hasp that’s been waiting for a spa day since early December. I love it but I just can’t bring myself to work on it! :shrugs:

You know where I don’t lack motivation? Buying more bags!

You can feel all the weight is from the metal frames. Those straps are sturdy, they are adequate for the weight. Because they’re on the thin side, if they aren’t conditioned, they don’t wear or age well. The two kisslock compartments are fully lined, makes it so luxurious. Yeah I’m weird.
