For sure. I used to be so much more adventurous when rehabbing but not so much anymore. Especially if the bag is way overpriced before any spa services.Well said Morgan.

Hello @LunaSilver! These are great finds! I was lucky enough to be exactly at the right place AND the right time (doesn't happen to me very often lol) to encounter all the bags that I have purchased. My very first was a black prairie at 3$ thus my Coach saga began. I was originally looking for parts to fix my purse, and old Tig, and was amazed at what I saw at the thrift. Unfortunately the thrift caught on after seeing so many sellers looking up purses on their phones while shopping there, (I really saw that coming and could not understand why the sellers were not more discreet). The prices are really high now and the hunt less exciting. I have lately found a couple at okay pricing but the days of the 3$ prairie are long gone. (At one time my limit was 5$ per bag then 10$, I cannot believe it now!).
It is hard to find stores that still price things cheaply. You would have more luck in smaller towns. There was a great store in El Paso the last time we were there. Actually I did great in Albuquerque in June at the St. Vincent de Paul - everything was $2 and buy one, get one free. I found 3 Coach bags, but nothing vintage. There are some bargains in Oregon and Utah. California is generally overpriced.
Coach.com offers free shipping and free returns. Some department stores do too. I don't have any decent shopping near me, except a Coach outlet not too far away. I do most of my shopping when we travel.I agree with you about the colors of the newer bags, some of those colors are incredibly attractive to me. I probably would buy newer bags as well, if I could feel the leather, or even just see the purse irl. However, buying on-line most often does not permit returns, and, unless the purse was very cheap, I would hate to be stuck with something I did not like.
Good times. Yup.I posted this in the rehab thread on accident but I wanted to remind people to check Craigslist too. I just found a large Courier for $30. And then there was that 21 bag estate sale haul...that was epic. Good times.
Gosh, that is lucky. In Canada (at least where I am), that just doesn't happen!I posted this in the rehab thread on accident but I wanted to remind people to check Craigslist too. I just found a large Courier for $30. And then there was that 21 bag estate sale haul...that was epic. Good times.
Just had a bad experience with an early Spectator bag. It was in quite good shape so I spent quite a bit, but looks worse after the rehab! This has never happened to me before. For sure. I used to be so much more adventurous when rehabbing but not so much anymore. Especially if the bag is way overpriced before any spa services.
I purchased a long navy Coach Wool coat with navy leather trim in the 90's from a Coach outlet store for $295. Size 12 and now hopelessly too small. While perusing the vintage catalogs in the reference section, I saw this jacket. Absolutely gorgeous! Lamb Napa leather and 1994 retail was $845. That’s $1688 today. Has anyone found vintage Coach jackets in the wild?

Well the wool one I got was beautiful. Back in the 90's I used to see other leather coats & jackets in the outlet stores as well that were just gorgeous but way out of my price range!Sounds gorgeous! Hopefully you can find a new one and sell the blue one. How is the quality on the Coach coats?
Apparently not. Looks who’s back …It's a lot of money!! But someone else was willing to pay that much on shop goodwill!

Let’s see if the person who was outbid by $1 comes back to savor the win! I had a feeling this would happen. It’s a nice find, but that is truly crazy money for that bag, imo.![]()

Interestingly enough, the Tabac Rambler that bid up to $294 is back too.
