Check out this Coach Dooney & Bourke reverse suede saddle bag :whut:

I asked @Hyacinth about it via message. Once it comes back, I’ll post it officially and have everyone look at it. I don’t know what actions I can take, but I had the most perfect set of pins envisioned.

There was this whole drama over on the Canadian side of Poshmark because a buyer got a fake court & opened a return case. She called coach & they told her the bag was authentic so she closed the case but then she took the bag to a craft store to get products for it & the sales associates informed her it wasn’t even real leather. Anyways, she was rightfully pissed & for a company that doesn’t offer “authentication”, they shouldn’t have given their 2 cents. Smh...

I have a busy day ahead of me so I'll get one more post in. I happen to have a fake court. It is amazingly well done for the details. I will have to go back and see if I ever posted it on AT. If not, maybe I will take some pics and post it on AT for all to see. But the big glaring fact I missed, which still surprises me that I missed it, is that is not leather. It sunk in when I dunked it and there was no dye loss as any non-white bag I have dunked, there is at least a faint amount of dye loss. I will say it is the best pleather I have ever seen in a knock off counterfeit Coach. Usually the pleather fake bags I see (and fake dooney too) have an awful texture that can be seen from 6 feet. No lie. It was my lesson learned about getting ahead of myself that I would buy a cheap bag and maybe flip it. It was $5, no hang tag or strap, at a large chain thrift shop. I decided to keep it stored with my bags as a reminder. to not make hasty purchases.
I was actually dusting it off the other day and was thinking about how they got so much right on this bag, except for the leather. And then I read your post!

Wow, you should definitely post it! I’d love to see how close it is! I’ve seen some pretty spot on looking fakes as well, what gave them away were the serial numbers. I’ve been studying the salesarea guides since slowing down on bag buying & it’s a great distraction from endlessly scrolling listings looking for a hidden gem lol

ESCANDALOSO !!! :panic:
But really, Coach needs to get its tish together if they are going into the vintage business (on, I might add, their own product) and be all in or all out. They need to really up their game /transparency on authentification. Or else if they screw it up with authentic bags it will create a huge headache for everyone.
They better start digging around those boxes in storage (my guess, somewhere in Jersey lol) and dig out their old catalogs and specs and start cracking open those archive display cases and seriously get to know their vintage product.

This is exactly what I warned about a few months ago when we discussed Coach getting into the vintage business. Their records better be above raproach if they are going to determine authenticity. LV does it and they go so far as to destroy the fake brought in for repair with no recourse for the customer. It must be a clause in the repair contract and I can't believe they haven't been sued out the wazoo because of it. But then again it is LV and they just scare the crap out of everyone with a withering glance. Who dares to sue them?

How long ago did this happen? Just curious.

The fakes I accidentally bought were very good. They were leather, and the creeds looked good to the untrained eye. The hardware gave them away and subtle details in the creed. Without checking those small details they looked totally legit. Like I said, I hope Coach is on top of their authentication game because heaven help them if they sell a "reimagined" fake for 600 bucks.

Oh, it’s not much. I just drove 4 hours to leave it at a flagship store to get pins put on it, found out that all the pins I wanted all weren’t in stock, but I could leave my bag, and they’d do it up and ship it out within the week. Ten days later, got a call saying I brought in a “fake”, but they’d ship it back to me at no cost.:cursing::crybaby:

Every time I give Coach the benefit of the doubt, something like this happens. I swear I just said the other day I was liking some of the new bags. Thank you for reminding me new Coach is not old Coach. Waiting on them to sell a fake for $500.

Also, again no offense to those who buy new Coach, but I often wonder how Bonnie Cashin would feel about them using her name to sell bags now. Part of me thinks the tribute is nice, but part of me is like please don't. It's such a confusing love/hate for me.

I ordered for the first time from Marecari, from a seller “Sunny”. It was a gift for a friend I was having shipped directly to recipient. An hour later she sends a cancellation. I’ve heard this happens on the less stellar sites but have never experienced it. Another friend had the same experience with the same seller I discovered after I did some complaining to handbag buddies. I will NEVER buy a thing from this seller or ever do business with Mercari EVER! I don’t know if we can post bad seller links but if you want that information please message me privately. I am so MAD!
Yes, and I tried to explain to you that I was listing it as a hold for a specific buyer and I was still in the process of updating the listing. I have reported the threat you sent me to Mercari. I understand it is hard to lose a purchase but the listing was intended for a specific buyer and therefore I could not sell to someone else. I let mercari know what had happened. I don’t know who your buddy is but this was a one time incident. I explained to you what the situation was and you still threatened me and you continue to bash me for it.

I'm sorry that happened to you but I wouldn't blame the platform Mercari. Just like ebay and other selling sites, they can't control what their sellers do. I don't know if they restrict them for doing this too often like ebay might. There are plenty of good sellers on that site and I would hate to have everyone boycott them.

I did explain to her that there was an issue. I was listing for a specific buyer who said she needed time to pay. I was in the process of editing the listing when she made the purchase. I reached out to both her and Mercari and she still threatened me on Mercari. I have already reported her message to Mercari as well. It was a one time unfortunate instance and I get she is upset. Still, no reason to respond the way she has.

Sunny is one of the most reputable sellers and buyers I have had the pleasure of working with. I think someone needs to look within herself as the problem and meditate on that.

Incorrectly described, yet it sold! Maybe you helped.

One more point I’d like to make before I leave this. My total purchase with tax and shipping cane to $500.50. Clearly, the order was cancelled because the seller sold to a different buyer at a higher price. The photo in this post shows it the item at $600. In the original sale to me, the item price was $490. That’s a price increase if $110. So the seller cancelling my ‘paid’ order to sell to someone else at a higher price is what I’m angry about and I will not do business with someone like that.
