I’ve been accused of bragging about my handbag collection (not here of course). I was under the impression that ‘show and tell’ was one of the fun aspects of being a part of online handbag communities. I enjoy seeing others get excited about their collections and new acquisitions especially when they find buried treasure. Can I help it if I like pristine vintage bags in every color under the rainbow?! Sharing the joy should not bring out the jealous green-eyed monsters.

Bragging to me is telling everyone about setting up stock accounts for children in my family (which I’ve done for 30 years) and buying MSFT in 2018 for my great nephew’s first birthday at $89 a share and closing Friday at $252 a share. Or paying cash for a brand new sports car. That is bragging! If I can’t share my handbag joy, then i might as well not participate.

I recently got Blackrocks & Im not really a fan. It’s very tacky & makes the bag look too shiny. I thought I was applying it sparingly but maybe even what I consider “sparingly” is too much?
I’ve heard that same complaint, one of the reasons I’ve not wanted to try it.
You are still using too much and not wiping it off soon enough. Put it on, then almost immediately wipe it off with a paper towel. Do a small section at a time. The next day you can brush.

I love seeing your handbag collection...I always sigh with pleasure when I see it. There's someone who knows the bags she likes and is not afraid to get them.

@whateve is absolutely correct. Rub small amounts into small areas and wipe off almost immediately. If you use it correctly then Blackrocks can be a real asset.

Comments like these make me smile because I'm pretty sure that I was the first TPF Coach Rehabber to try Leather CPR and I've been using it ever since, for at least 10 years.

Apple Leather Conditioner used to be the favorite but it was expensive and hard to get. I first came across bottles of Leather CPR at a Tuesday Morning store and it was a lot cheaper so I decided to try it - and I liked it much better than Apple!

But I still use Apple Garde Rain & Stain Repellent to protect bags and I like it but it is pricey - over $16 for a can on Amazon! Can anyone suggest another good option for a rain repellent? Thanks!
Based on your lovely rehabs and experience, I say, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it! Keep using what you’re using!

Another NYC spectator style, Convertible Cluth likely, na . . .

The first few bags I used it on I put way too much. It is so easy to overdo, especially after learning to be so generous with CPR. The times I have used too much, the tackiness goes away after a few days. Give them a buff maybe a week later, they will improve dramatically.

Thanks guys! Ill try it again on my next rehab! :)

I once read an article about how TPF is like a safe haven for people to show off their expensive bags without fear of judgement. There are women who own closets full of Hermes & Chanel. Are they bragging when they share them? We all know how much those bags cost. This is a forum to show off handbags to like minded individuals who love to see them. There’s nothing “flashy” about your posts. We all love to live vicariously through the amazing collections here. Where else was I ever gonna see a Christmas tree full of Willises?!

I am getting down to the bottom of the rehab barrel. After reaching a level of satisfaction with my Rambler , I am debating whether to do next, a dry like the Sahara Buckle Tote with funky stains or this Travel Tote that was maybe once a cocoa color, maybe dyed?, badly, with a handle that could use a few stitches. And oh with a big ink stain. Lol I know equally crazy.
I'm at the bottom of mine. I pulled out bags I have put off for years.

I haven't even found all of my rehab piles!

Congrats! Good news. I was ready to plan a Rehab without Borders rally. Buy as much as I could. Possibly recruit House and anyone else and figure out the best part of the US / Canadian border to drive up to and just start lobbing containers of CPR over the border, fence, falls etc. Kinda relieved I can call that off.
Lob a few over the ocean to the UK, please!:nuts::wave:
