Thank you, Lake! Fortunately she loves the style so much she is willing to switch to a more compact wallet.

I will request a comp. :flowers:
Don't know if you got the answer yet, in case it will help, the canteen 9901 bag I got has more room than Companion Flap, the iPhone 11 with a bulky case can fit in the slip pocket or inside with ease. I just put inside the bag a compact wallet and my phone, there is lots of room remaining. I think there are 2 sizes of this style, Canteen 9901 and Chester 9982, with Chester being the smaller one. ( Please correct me if I am wrong with the 2 styles)

Thank you so much, Luna! These photos are perfect! I am really surprised at how large the Canteen is beside the Companion Flap.

Both of your bags are beautiful, by the way!!

Just putting it out there  I am searching for a blue or navy Canteen 9901 for a friend, should anyone happen across one during their internet travels. I will restore it for her. MTIA!!! :flowers:

Is it safe to presume a cell phone and full sized wallet will fit?

I'm in Canada.
Actually they are quite roomy. I don’t use small bags but make an exception with the 9901 because it will hold my iPhone, small zip bag and sundries, and my 1941 clutch wallet which is fairly good size especially when I have it stuffed to the max! I guess I like it. I own 9 different colors! And my sister is a sheriff’s deputy and sometimes when not in uniform she carries her gun in her bag. She loves the 9901 because her gun even fits. Lol!

I used to have a modern bag in this shape. I loved it because it wasn't deep. When you opened it up, you could see everything. Nothing fell out. It was this bag, which is gorgeous, by the way.

I have the black version of this bag, this reminded me of it. I should bust it out, haven’t used in a while! It is one sturdy bag lol

9982 is the Canteen bag and the smaller of the two. 9901 is known as Chester. Here’s an example of how tiny the Canteen bag is.

When I first started collecting I bought a canteen bag in Mahogany. I decided to get rid of it because I don't wear/carry that color often. I found a listing that called it canteen and copied it when listing my bag. It sold. Then the buyer wanted to return because the measurements were wrong! Only then I realized I copied a listing for Chester and not canteen. I accepted the return but lesson learned not to trust other sellers.

Reason #1 - the vaccine helps prevent you from getting seriously ill and getting hospitalized if you contract COVID. It does not prevent you from getting COVID or being a carrier to pass COVID to others. So if you do get COVID now, you may not even notice it and if you care about others around you who have not been vaccinated, you should still wear the mask and socially distance.

Reason #2 - depending on the vaccine you get, it may not prevent you from getting serioulsy ill for all of the variants...especially the Brazilian one...

i think we can only get back to “normal” when the virus is literally no longer circulating in high numbers, ICU and hospital capacity is back to normal and everyone is fully vaccinated country by country around the world.

I know this is not ideal and this is hoping Covid does not mutate into worse forms than it currently is....
Yes, exactly. My husband and I have had ours (I had the Moderna vaccine and booster and he had the Pfizer with booster) but my boys have not. One of them had Covid the week before Christmas and neither of them are eligible in Mississippi anyway - they're only 14 years old. We are still wearing masks everywhere we go. At home with vaccinated family members, we don't.
Everything we do or don't do involves caring for ourselves AND others equally. Staying healthy and alive (we have a very low-functioning 14 year old with Down syndrome that requires and extraordinary amount of physical care, including diaper changes), protecting others, preserving PPE, easing the workload on healthcare workers, preserving hospital spaces, etc., are all reasons that my husband and I got vaccinated and continue to use masks and take precautions. We don't and have never felt "put-out" or "controlled" by anything during the pandemic.

But are those the only ones who are traveling? I seriously doubt it.

All it takes is one.

A few basic facts:

A very small number of people seem to have contracted Covid more than once.

There's apparently a two-week period after a completed vaccination series before the jabs are completely effective.

There are new variants popping up almost every few weeks that may or may NOT be zapped by the current round of injections or affected by someone's TEMPORARY immunity from a previous infection by a different variant.

There are no solid accepted statistics on exactly how long any specific person's immunity lasts, whether from infection or injection. We've heard six months, three months, the likelihood of needing a booster shot at yet-unknown intervals - NO ONE KNOWS YET. This disease is less than 18 months old. How long did it take us to crack polio? Smallpox???

Anyone who thinks it's "one and done" and they're safe for life really needs to study the science. And right now there just isn't enough to draw any kind of conclusions. Jerks like certain Congressmen I won't name can scream their heads off for the tv cameras about "TELL US WHEN IT'S GOING TO END! WHY AREN'T YOU TELLING US???" It's because they DON'T KNOW YET. No one does. It's going to take a lot more infections and not just a few more deaths before the facts and possibilities and statistics start to become clearer. And every new variant a.k.a. "mutation" that pops up changes the rules of the game.

You can have your beach. Good luck with it.
Very true. As a professional with 25+ years of studying immunology and vaccinology, having administered tens of thousands of vaccines, I have extensive knowledge and clinical experience when it comes to coronaviruses in other species and in general. I assure you that it is very possible that we may never have a vaccine that provides complete immunity to this virus. Coronaviruses are tricky little buggers.

On the Riley chain clutch's Coach webpage, it says it's 'based on a Coach favorite introduced in the 1970s'. Do you guys know which 70s 'favourite' they're talking about? ETA: is it a variation of the dinky?
I have no idea. It looks like the casino bag but that wasn't made until the 70s. The only top handle clutch that comes to mind is the handle clutch but it doesn't look anything like that. It has a top zipper, not a flap with a turnlock.

It looks like a Casino to me too.

My latest haul from the past week. I have a small black 9860 Plaza coming too. I have four of the large 9865 Plazas but this will be my first small Plaza. The NWT Willis ( Camel 3 is the color on the tag) is one I already owned but this new one was perfect and much nicer than the preowned one I bought earlier. I like to buy NWT versions of Willis bags I already have in my collection.

I have well over 450 bags in my collection but for some reason I keep shopping for more, both new and vintage. Recently, I found a seller had blocked me despite my prolific bag buying habits AND despite having stellar ratings from all other buyers I’ve ever had the good fortune from whom to buy. Some have even become friends. This particular seller was not a favorite and I’ve come to find out other handbag friends have had issues with same seller. All I can say is she isn’t the brightest bulb in the bunch.

If I was a seller, the last thing I’d do is alienate a buyer like me who continues to buy bags with no end in site. And, who has a dedicated handbag room full of gorgeous bags with an overflowing handbag gift closet. I’m known as the bag lady and Ms. Willis in my circle of friends and family. Lol! Recently, I gathered a bunch of bags to add to my giveaway stash. Everyone loves getting my castoffs! Many are NWT or hardly used. I have no interest in selling them. It’s more fun to see people smile. The joy of giving. Gotta ❤️ it!

First of all, DAMN GIRL! Second, maybe the seller blocked you because she figured if you’re picky about how pristine the bags are, you’ll be a difficult buyer. Even if you’re not actually like that at all. Maybe she saw your ratings & got intimidated that her bags won’t live up to what you’re used to. Or she’s just being petty about not wanting to sell to you lol. Im just speculating, but I don’t see any reason to block a buyer unless they’re being a PITA

Thank you so much for the feedback, PG! I would LOVE you to list the 9 colours!!! I'm curious and envious (in the most positive sense!)!

Thank you for clarifying, BK! :hugs: I do own a 1990s Canteen and it is adorable, but not very functional.
