They do that now! Its called “lane guidance” & it’ll tell you well in advance what lane you need to be in. I would google how to turn it on, I think mine was just pre-set to it!

eta: apple maps has it as well, just checked
As far as I know it is visual. You can see the next turn but you can't see the one after that unless you move the map with your finger, which is hard to do when you are the one driving. When I make the turn, I want to know immediately which lane to get in for the next one instead of having to wait until the turn is completed to find out I should have gotten in a different lane. Google maps works great when DH is driving and I navigate; not so good when I'm alone in the car.

Now that my daydreaming is over...my original reason for visiting this thread was actually about bags!

Can anyone tell me if the 9059 Legacy Small hobo ever came in black with nickel hardware, or in the dark grey with gold hardware? Mine was dark grey(from 2000) and had nickel hardware. Searches are bringing up listings that say grey with gold hardware, wondering if these are actually faded black and will not be grey after a dunk. I also see listings that say black with nickel hardware, but wondering if those are actually dark grey. I want grey with nickel, so want to be sure before I find another one. Hoping one of you fine people with many catalogs can help me out. TIA
It came in black with silver hardware. There was a color called smoke with brass hardware so that could be the grey you've seen.9059 Legacy Small Hobo.JPG

I hate programming the native nav system in my car, but it is easier to follow commands from than using Google maps on my phone. I got so lost using Google because it told me to go right when the options were left or straight and then it doesn’t say “recalculating” to let you know you goofed.

Apple map from IPhone is pretty good. It give verbal directions and lane guidence way ahead, if you need to change lane immediately following a turn, it will tell you all of that before you approaching the turn.

When I use it, the voice tells me which lane to go in well before I actually need to be in that lane. Im wondering if it’s a Canadian thing then? I use it all the time, it’s reduces my anxiety on the highway because I hate lane changing last minute at such high speeds for fear of a car being in my blind spot lol

Thank you! Interesting, the catalog page I've seen showed the color grey with silver hw. I wonder if smoke is a different grey, or a different name for the same color. I'm pretty sure the catalog just said dark grey.

The nav system in our Ford car is terrible. Sometimes it shows us driving where there isn't a road! It is a stupid system, which requires you to say North America every time, and never gives the correct option while it guesses what you said. With Google, I can say navigate to "the name of a place" and it assumes I mean one nearby. I use Android auto which puts Google maps from my phone onto the screen in the car with sound through the car speakers. My daughter uses Waze. She says it is better.

My Prius’ system is just weird to use. You normally type in an address by street number with street name, but it makes you have to put the name in first for this. And you can’t type into it while driving, which is a safety feature, but when you no longer need it and just want to push the off button because you are almost home, you can’t unless you get a red light. If you can turn the radio On/off while driving, you should be able to tell the “voice” to shut up while driving.
