Found a bag I wanted to buy with a best offer button. I offered $15 below- declined, $10 below- declined, $5 below- declined, so wtf is the point of having an offer button? lol

When I price my bags, my starting price is the minimum I a m willing to accept, the BIN price is the one I’ll accept instantly, and anything in between is a maybe. Nothing personal.

Yes, but it's not done often (at least not by experienced sellers) because it's expensive. I couldn't find a price schedule so I tested it on one of my listings.

To set a $30 reserve, the cost was $5!!

IMO, it's cheaper and easier to just set the starting bid at the lowest you're willing to accept.
Also, it’s annoying to the buyers. I mostly ignore the ones with Reserve price altogether - IMHO, the sellers expectations are usually not realistic.

Since we are talking about EBay pricing mechanics, I’ve had a weird experience recently, and I am not sure if I am missing something. I made an offer, and got a slightly upped counteroffer from a seller with a note that she is really regretting she priced the bag so low, and she has several other offers... I accepted the counter because I still got a good deal, but I am wondering, can’t the seller select the highest offer? (I’ve never been in the multiple offers situation as a seller). Or are they forced by EBay to go one by one in the order received?

The seller has control over which offers she accepts. However the offers from the other buyers may have expired or she may have already declined them.

Or there really weren't any other offers and she's just trying to create a sense of urgency so you'd buy.

Or the other offers were LOWER than your offer.

I think everyone falls under the impression that if a listing on Ebay is Buy-It-Now only but theres an offer button, that means the seller is willing to negotiate $5-$10 off the price. Thats the listing style I was referring to in my original post, this was not an auction style listing hence it was weird that even my $5 off BIN price offer got rejected. When it is auction style with offer, I always offer more than the starting bid. Regardless, I never take it personally- just have to move on to the next bag when things don’t work out :)

What styles came out in a mustard yellow? So far I’ve seen: Regina, Watson, Daypack, City, Dinky, the Duffels (I think in different sizes), Lula’s Legacy, Abbie, Geometrics, Ergo, Soho belted pouch... are there any other ones I’m missing?

My Retro Lindy Bag 9003 from the 1991 Anniversary Catalog is in the "Golden Yellow" color. It was listed for $162 and described as "Gold plated steel frame with knob closure. 10x7x5."

I originally called it "mustard" when I posted it in the authentication thread because I didn't know the official name. It's a nice size for a kisslock bag.

I remember seeing your bag and wanting a yellow Lindy but could not afford the only one I saw on Etsy... so I settled for a black one, which I love. But I would also LOVE to find one in yellow! Such a cute bag. If I could collect all the colors in this one I would! But I think it’ll take me a lifetime, haha.

In other news, dare I say that I think I’m rounding the last frontier in regards to my vintage coach collection ! My list is pretty short now... though I probably will never be able to resist a “deal” when it comes to these bags.
