I got sent an assessment report on a vintage Hermes scarf. They mentioned odor as something that wasn’t mentioned in the description. They still rated it as very good condition though.

I guess it would depend on the odor, I tend to store items with little bags of lavender for freshness, so there might be a mild odor of lavender, personally that wouldn't put me off, but the dreaded moldy smell of a crypt/wet basement or cigarettes certainly would.

Good point !
Though the smell is really faint, I doubt it would register, I would think it is possibly one of the more unpleasant smells, I once fell into the trap of purchasing a bag I was after for ages (when it came out I was a student and they were really hard to get) and there was also mentioned that the item has an odor, foolishly I thought nothing a bit of baking soda or a good airing can't get rid off. I'm honestly not exaggerating, the smell hit me like a wall, like somebody poured water into an ashtray, I was gagging and hung it in the sun, had tons of baking soda in it, I just could not get rid of the smell. I ended up giving it to the HandbagClinic, telling them that I am really sorry, wasn't me, bought it 2nd hand, they somehow managed to get rid of the smell, but i had to store it in the shed, as you could really smell it through the whole house. A few of my friends are smokers, but none of them ever smells like that. I have no idea what they did with it, keep it in one of the smoker's lounges for years?

Probably cats peed in it, had a couple of bags like that, one was super smelly, another time was a heavy smokers bag, oh horrible

Not had the cat pee, thankfully, but a few items that smelled like they came from the crypt and the bag that smelled of cold smoke, it was honestly horrendous, when I carefully whiped it, the cloth came away yellowish brown. I doubt a single person can smoke that much?

Very possible. The heavy smoker’s bag smelt so horrible I was going to return it, then read she was telling her friend her cancer came back, I decided to keep the bag and didn’t ask for return.

Must of been a heavy smoker that did not air out their house. Leather is absorbent because it’s a natural material.

I'm completely new to Vestiaire so this is perhaps a noob question but there was a bag that I was eyeing that is now listed as "sold". However, when I go to the seller's account, it says the bag is in "Currently in another basket". Does this mean that there a chance it might become available again?

I think it's a flaw in their programming, it is full of bugs, it sometimes happens, I had items I had sold ages ago as "currently in another basket" despite it being delivered, the money paid out

Hi, I am a seller on VC. Two things that happened to me recently.

(1) one of my sold dresses got the underskirt lost by VC's agent at their warehouse. Their camera footage caught it, that the agent mistook the underskirt as a packaging bag. So far they did not mention any refund or make-ups. What options do I have to get a refund or a resolution? (the buyer from Australia needs it urgently for a wedding by the end of this month, so I was arguing for a second-day shipping in exchange, but VC has not promised anything)

(2) The other dress that I sold received a customer complaint. It is a new without-tag dress in size Medium, with a no-return lock tag on its brand label. The buyer said that the size was wrong. However, I did list the dress as a size Medium, and I provided a picture as well in the listing. VC's size conversion matches the brand's website too. VC only told me that the sizing issue was what the buyer reported and upon their review, they gave her a 7-day window to return the dress. How could that even be allowed??? Or will the dress be sent to VC's hub instead??? (I got a notification from UPS that they created a label from VC to my home and the item is 0.5oz, it was not shipped yet). I am getting worried that the dress was swapped at the buyer's to some other sizes, but still, mine had this security tag thing that should not be taken off and ignored by VC's review team. Also, I put expensive freebies (a real pearl necklace and a pair of new Kate Spade earrings) to the buyer since this was her 5th time buying from me (the previous 4 times were smaller purchases ranging from $40-100 dollars). I am now even worried that she won't return those add-on gifts back to me.

This happened to me too when I wanted to buy what appeared to be an "affordable" secondhand jacket from a Swiss seller. I am in Australia. By the time the taxes and import/customs duties were added on, these added more than 50% to the original cost of the item! Usually for Australia it's 10% GST if the item is under AUD $900. So, I didn't buy. Switzerland is not in the EU and doesn't have an FTA with Australia so I assume that's why the taxes/duties are nothing short of ridiculous?

Anyway after my first two purchases with VC were positive this year, my last three purchases have been negative. Literally within a week, two sellers (located in Korea and Germany) cancelled my orders and relisted for higher prices.

Then the third seller, after proactively sending me a message saying she'd ship ASAP, went AWOL and about 10 days passed without contact, then VC messaged me saying my order would be cancelled and refunded too. Only positive was I saved my money but missed out on what looked like great purchases.

So yeah VC is definitely 50-50 hit and miss. I also wouldn't trust it for anything considered "luxury designer" - the chance of getting a fake is too high.
Hi, have you had experience with U.S. shipping to Australia by the shipping label provided by VC? I have a customer in Australia and she needs a dress urgently. I hope to know the timeline here. Thanks.

That is so horrible after you done so much for this buyer, and VC should not allow returns such as this one you had correctly described your item

I didn’t even “opt” for direct shipping. They just put my items as “direct shipping” options to my buyers. I still can’t figure out how to stop this option.

Today, I had a shocking email that VC is allowing my buyer to send me back my item by DHL. They didn’t even communicate with me about what the issue was about.

I sold my Ferragamo varina flats in size 7M, listed clearly on VC. The buyer wrote to me that she wears 38 and couldn’t fit in the shoes. VC simply allowed her to ship it back to me directly. How can I know if the buyer would ship me something else instead?

I am very disappointed with VC now. After selling more than 60 authentic items, all shipped on time and very accurate description. But my profile still showed 80% compliance. I have many more valuable items that I wish to sell, but I’m hesitant to sell on VC again after such an experience. Can’t trust them anymore.

I forgot to mention that I chatted with them via the app as well. Guess what, they dropped me in the middle of the chat maybe because they couldn’t give me an answer. Is this customer service at all?
same thing happened to me. I thought VC would let the buyer send the shoes to their hub first for examination, and if it passes quality control, they will list the item on the buyer's behalf. Why was it direct return this time?

Thank you for your sympathy. I do not know why. I reported it on BBB but I doubt it would do something. Sometimes it does speed up their response (when they reply, they will sound like they did not actually review the case and then everything will be started over again). If anything happened, I heard that people had successful cases by filing a police report, reaching out to their leadership (management, CEO) on LinkedIn or email, or reaching out to the press. Because I had several awful experiences with them, I might do those.
