I just received 2 emails from VC. Funny enough, they don’t even know who exactly was on the chat with me today! I was acknowledged by someone called “Harvey R” at the beginning of the chat.
But VC’s email said it was “Spencer R”

I am so lost now. Not sure what I should do.
rmb to film the unboxing of the parcel when you receive it (noting clearly the shipping label attached to the box). That said, it’s going to become a he said she said situation as you probably did not film yourself packing the parcel. I.e. in the situation where the buyer damaged/swapped your shoes, they can simply claim that it arrived like that

That’s exactly what I am worrying about. It’s sad that we can’t trust people anymore
Also, if you are too nice (esp. to people who don’t deserve it), then they will take advantage of you. I am tired from all the unnecessary stress.

You are right! The buyer damaged my shoes and sent them back to me. I did an unboxing and took many photos of the damages. The email contact form on VC didn’t allow me to upload more than 5 photos. It’s so frustrating.

At the same time, I just had another sale (also a direct shipping). I contacted the buyer, informing that I will not do direct shipping. Not sure what else I need to do now, any tips?

Oh dear. :(
Try to dispute it with VC as best as you can. Nothing you can rlly do about it now (shoes have never gone through VC’s hands so they rlly wouldn’t know).
As for future shipping, I’d contact the buyer and tell him/her that I don’t do direct shipping and will be cancelling this order and will relist the item again. If she/he is still interested, just opt for authenticated shipping at checkout

Yes, VC replied asking me to send photos of my shoes that I shipped. I know you already predicted this to happen. But I can’t believe this. I’ve never taken any photos of items before shipping. I’ve sold 60+ items including Chanels, Hermes and Gucci. So far nobody has ever complaint about my items, including VC, and other Direct Shipping buyers.

I wonder which Seller would bother to take photos to list the items, and then take photos again before shipping :confused1: This sounds like a scam from VC. I consider this a lost case. I’ve also lost my Trusted Seller status now (Previously being Expert Seller, but since I sold less items this year, it’s gone down a level).

Since they don’t appreciate earning money from the commissions from my items, I shall sell my designer stuff elsewhere. It’s not worth the stress to deal with them.

I’m so sorry about ur situation! There are scums everywhere but VC is still an ok-ish place to sell for now (just avoid direct shipping)

There is another issue with direct shipping that I encountered and is likely unusual but I’m warning sellers anyway. If the item is scanned late, even if it was the post office’s issue, VC policy is to refund/cancel the sale, regardless if the item was received and the buyer is not required to send it back. The buyer in my case went MIA.

On another note, has anyone sold shearling or exotics in Canada on VC? I contacted support and they told me I can send it to other buyers in Canada only….but the buy function on my end from shearling in any location is blocked.

I made my first purchase from Vestiaire recently, and pretty sure that I received a fake.
I bought a Ferragamo gancio city leather shoulder bag.
Brand new in box, handles still wrapped in protective packaging.

This was my birthday present to myself.
The purse came with authenticity tag attached to it.
I’m 99% convinced it’s a fake. While the hardware is pretty convincing, the purse is very flimsy, the lining doesn’t look like any other Ferragamo purse that I’ve owned, the inside pocket is missing a gold metal Ferragamo logo and the stitching is crooked.
The straps also have chips on them
I returned the purse, and they sent me an email today saying that -
Our teams are made up of specialists in the analysis of luxury items, and Vestiaire Collective is also a signatory of the anti-counterfeit charter. They have concluded that the item meets the standards of the brand.

We have relisted the item for sale on your account at the original price. Once it sells, we will package and ship the item to your buyer, and you will receive the full proceeds of the sale, minus our usual commission.

I also have an option to have it returned to me if I decide in the next 24 hours.

Attaching photos where you can see the crooked stitching, chips on the strap, and the almost see through lining.
As well as photos I pulled up online of the gold logo that the purse should have on the inside pocket.

Everything I’ve ever owned by Ferragamo had immaculate stitching. This feels flimsy and sloppy.

Am I wrong and maybe the brand quality went down so much?
Is this kind of stitching acceptable?
I want my money back, I don’t want to lose money by re listing it, not to mention that they will re sell what’s most likely a fake.

Any advice how to proceed?

oh my, I am so sorry for your experience, what a headache! TBH, my first thought was that quality may have gone down with the newer products (not just with Ferragamo but most brands in general), but I don't blame you for returning. I would have gotten in touch with Ferragamo retail to see if they can help authenticate but since you already returned it, would there be any way to get Vestiaire to lower your seller/return fee or give you a promo code as a courtesy? I'm a brand new customer to them so I've never dealt with their customer service. Good luck and keep us posted!

I just made my first purchase with a shoulder bag from The Curated. While I'm very satisfied with my purchase, that is largely due to me getting a great deal on an already reasonably priced bag. I was still frustrated and perplexed as to why the site doesn't require more detail or close up shots of the item. I had to ask the seller several questions and just trust the process as I waited for my bag to arrive. While the description stated there were light scratches from normal use, there were no up close photos or more specific details. The bag came with a deeper scratch than I expected, but it was in an area only I would notice, and after some leather conditioner it looked better. I would have been way more pissed if this was a designer bag I splurged on so based off this experience I don't think I'll be buying designer goods off Vestiaire to be on the safe side.
