That’s really frustrating! I suppose people think that we’re trying to scam them in some way by suggesting to switch to our currency. Even though Vestiarie has an article about currency conversion charges in it’s official FAQ.

Update: vestiare sided the buyer as they trust their buyers to be honest. OK what about the sellers? Where is the seller protection here? We’re entrusting our expensive items to you! Omg.

Do not ever ship with direct shipping on VC guys.
You’re shipping your item directly to the buyer without going through Vestiare collective’s hand and the buyer has 72hrs to then raise any issues. Between then and payment, anything can happen to your item. E.g. buyer has buyer’s remorse and wants to get his/her money back - proceeds to nick your bag and lodge a report for non conformity as the “nick” he/she just placed on your bag was not as described in your listing.
Or the buyer is a scammer and swaps your real item with his/her fake and lodges a report. In which case, he/she sends the fake one back to VC for authentication which will obviously fail the verification and you’ll end up with a fake item back.

Sellers be warned.

Well, now it’s my turn to get shocked by their experts’ knowledge, or better say lack thereof. I submitted a Gucci Ophidia chain bag yesterday. First they refused it because they wanted more photos (which I provided). An today I got the following reply:

They claim that I altered it by adding the chain! It’s originally a CHAIN bag! What did they think?? That it was a toiletry pouch to which I added a chain?? *facepalm* Unbelievable…

Did they ask you to submit receipt? It could prove to them it’s the original accessory

Sold a coat a year ago on the website. It went all good ! Nothing to worry about just on the side note I wish I could have talked to the person buying the coat to get some reviews or making sure she or he got the coat.
