Vestiaire Collective experiences?

oh my, I am so sorry for your experience, what a headache! TBH, my first thought was that quality may have gone down with the newer products (not just with Ferragamo but most brands in general), but I don't blame you for returning. I would have gotten in touch with Ferragamo retail to see if they can help authenticate but since you already returned it, would there be any way to get Vestiaire to lower your seller/return fee or give you a promo code as a courtesy? I'm a brand new customer to them so I've never dealt with their customer service. Good luck and keep us posted!

I just made my first purchase with a shoulder bag from The Curated. While I'm very satisfied with my purchase, that is largely due to me getting a great deal on an already reasonably priced bag. I was still frustrated and perplexed as to why the site doesn't require more detail or close up shots of the item. I had to ask the seller several questions and just trust the process as I waited for my bag to arrive. While the description stated there were light scratches from normal use, there were no up close photos or more specific details. The bag came with a deeper scratch than I expected, but it was in an area only I would notice, and after some leather conditioner it looked better. I would have been way more pissed if this was a designer bag I splurged on so based off this experience I don't think I'll be buying designer goods off Vestiaire to be on the safe side.
I managed to get all my money back.
After some back and forth with their rep and being fed all kinds of canned excuses (they wouldn’t even admit that the stitching is crooked in the photo), I tagged Vestiaire and Ferragamo on social media and contacted the BBB.
Refund within days.
They delete and hide comments on Instagram.
Their Twitter is also full of people complaining about receiving fakes.
I’ve never called anyone out on social media before. Felt weird about doing that, but I’m pretty sure that company is a scam.
I can understand a couple of fakes slipping here and there, but the amount of people calling them out on social media is overwhelming.

I’m done with second hand bags unless I can see them in person before purchasing.
My wallet will hate me, but I’ll buy from YOOX or official stores if I splurge from now on.
Or stick to Poshmark if I’m familiar with a brand. Never got anything that was off from that site before, and most people will post additional photos when asked.

Hey ladies, does anyone bought a Hermes RTW on VC? What do you think if seller is willing to provide receipt and item with tags then I’ll be ok?? I know there are tons of fake bags but Hermes Cardigan can be fake because original price was 3200$ and seller is asking for 1300$. It’s from 22 collection what is your opinion? I don’t want to deal with fake after spending thousands of dollars :confused1:

Congratulations on pulling this through! I thought the bag was an obvious fake. The stitching was WAY off and the lining is -well - creative:) I am glad you were able to get the refund - and it is a lesson to everyone to be persistent. I have purchased a few Hermes scarves on VC (never sold anything). I didn't receive any fake items (I can readily authenticate through pictures myself so it is low risk for me), but a few didn't agree to the description. For one item, they did provide a refund, for the other I have accepted 10% (just didn't want to risk the return), and for one they refused the return flat out (advertised as new, but came fulle of perfume smell and multiple pulls). Having said that, I am not a fan of this platform - terrible customer service is one reason, and the shipping fees they charge is another (I have to factor about $35 on top of the price for shipping/authentication). I am based in the US and having items flown from somewhere without clear avenue to return if there is an issue is the concept that I decided I am not comfortable with. I much rather prefer Posh or eBay for that matter where you can get in touch with sellers/buyers and where is the better managed customer service.

Having said that, I always pay thought PayPal with AMEX so as a last resort, there is an opportunity to dispute with either one.

They decreased selling fee charged to sellers

I did not get this information in their letter, only that buyers have to pay a fee now.
Would either of you be able to post a screenshot of the information you received from Vestiaire (or copy and paste it)? I did not receive an email about changes, and it would be helpful to know. Thank you so much.

I’m relatively new to Vestiaire and have now sold 12 items. My items are generally fab condition and my listings show every detail. Always full set too. But I list reasonably low and sell within a week. I’ve sold Chanel, Fendi and Celine so far. Items are authenticated within 24 hours of delivery and I get paid the next day. I’ve never had an issue. I haven’t however bought anything as I’m currently downsizing.

I am (both as a casual buyer and seller) shocked. They take 18% from the seller and now another 5% from the buyer. The value they provide you will be exactly the same, except you have to pay up as a buyer, or provide even better value as a seller. And don't get me started about customer service. In the mid-season sale, my items were completely mispriced, discounted way too low, or not included at all, or included only in later days. When trying to talk to customer service, the person simply didn't comprehend what my issue was and gave me wrong advice. When I asked to talk to someone else, she said not possible, as she is still here. And I need to wait 48hrs for this request to close, and to be able to open a new one. I blew a fuse. Had to unlist several items.
Problem is, in Europe they are the biggest, and the others are smaller and more expensive. Trying Vinted, but they are not a luxe platform.
