Very disappointing service at Hermes Manhasset

A few weeks ago "KWittman" posted in this forum that her SA was saying nasty things about another client.

I had to scratch my head when I read this, because personally, I adore my SA and could not think of her being anything but wonderful. She has a long client list, never names names, and has gone to the wall for me when I want something desperately, even privately hooking me up with other clients who have items of interest to sell on the side, who do not want to go through eBay.

In this case though, I remembered, my SA was referring to the person whom we on this forum do not speak of, who wrote that recently published book that we on this forum do not speak of.

And yeah, in that case ... she did not have very nice things to say about that person.

I wish I could say the same for the boutique I spent so much money at last year. Another tPF'er told me that she asked an assistant manager when she saw me in the store if I was "so and so" from tPF and that that asst. manager nodded yes. Can you believe it? I was appalled. I won't name names (so please don't ask), but it is one that people have raved about for about a year now, although the service is starting to change and not for the good. I feel very betrayed. Since then, they've also pretended to have forgotten they promised an exotic PO for me since December. Although I love my purchases from last year, I wish I had my 100k back now, in a way.

oh NO .... I am so sorry this happened to you .... I would absolutely feel betrayed. Privacy and discretion are things you do hope for when a certain amt of money starts to get involved. I would think that at your level of history, an SA would think for a flipping split second before passing on any information to someone else. That is not right, and I share your dismay.

I will add that when my SA was talking out of school about ... voldemort (!), I considered that absolutely fair game, and a different animal altogether, since voldemort pretty much drew first very public blood. Talk about biting the hand that fed you. OK, end of talk about voldemort ...

I have a very clear opinion about SAs discussing clients. I think that all client information should remain strictly private. An Hermes SA should never discuss one client with another. Futhermore, to spread gossip about anyone (regardless of his current literary or former career), makes you just as guilty as the SA.

Gossip is gossip and it is bad for everyone.

Thanks KW. They seemed to think it was funny. I didn't think it was funny at all as I expected more of store management.

sigh .... I have been looking at other threads this morning and just want to apologize for once more inadvertently mentioning something and someone which I totally did not realize was such a red-hot radioactive topic on tpf. I went to try to edit the above posts to delete ANY mention but can't find my edit button. I joined tpf a loooong time ago but did not post with any regularity until lately I came back to the forum for for 1. purse distraction and 2. some anonymous venting on personal stuff.

I am not a troll trying to plug or give publicity to ANYTHING, or ANYONE ... in the firLst place I only happened to bring up the subject because I was responding to someone ELSE's post that was on the front page the day I happened to log back on to tpf. I just responded to it, not having reached page 12 that day to see that the particular subject is equivalent to kryptonite here. I am very, very sorry but did not mean any harm.

voldemort is now dead. OK?

Don't worry, KW, it's okay and welcome back. No harm done.:p

that is very kind of you, thank you. I had an ID that I did not use for so long, only because it is the only way to see all the gorgeous pictures. Once I started posting, I really appreciated the discussions. I just missed having the history where I knew what was permissible and what was not. There are some holes in my tpf etiquette, and again, I apologize.

just to share...u can actually email hermes via their website under contact us, reply to feedback and tell them about your shopping experience that went bad...

hermes will get back to u shortly

anything you are not satisfied...please tell hermes directly. Ranting here will not help, hermes will apologise and look into the matter.

my personal opinion here...i feel that SA should be professional in handling any client. Calls should be replied even if they do not have any products for you. Its basic courtesy. Yes, names should be kept confidential. Some clients of hermes are from the top-tier of society. Having their names mentioned by the SA is a big NO NO in my opinion :)
