Very disappointing service at Hermes Manhasset

As someone who hardly ever gets the chance to visit an H store in person and establish a real person relationship with an SA, (most of my H fixes are dealt with by phone :p), I have to say I have had mostly fantastic service in the H stores.
I never expect to phone up or walk in and get instant service. Jeez, I must bug the arse of my SAs with all my questions and changes of hearts!!
If I am on the phone , I have a polite chat and make my requests, then mostly leave it in the hands of the SA, sometimes I might need to phone again and refresh their memory, but I like having a chat, so it really doesnt bother me.
If I go into a store, I actually like to have plenty of time to myself to browse all the goodies, and if I want help I will ask for it, and consider it polite to wait my turn.
Everyone has their off days, too many tourists, phone requests etc.
I have gotten over my fear of H SAs!!

But, you seem to anyway.[/quote]

Lilyhermes - Well spoken, as always.

It seems there are many people determined to insist that Hermes continues to treat them poorly. Perhaps there have been issues. I'm not here to argue about that, and frankly - do not want to argue about it.

Someone is treated poorly by a SA - however unfair it may seem or perhaps even be - to continue to bad mouth the brand, the stores, the SA's, the pf members who have great SA's and have received wonderful service - that's not what this Forum is about. IMHO.

If someone needs advice, some understanding (in terms of the brand, the products, help with a search for an item), someone to share their joy of a new purchase, the common love of Hermes, and to be amongst friends - that is what holds it together.

Really, if people are not happy with Hermes - they are many other high end brands out there who would be glad to take the money instead.

Respect - goes both ways.

Exactly, MiaT, exactly.:yahoo: Now, let's all see if we can play nice and continue to enjoy ourselves and Hermes.

I am going to have to respectably disagree on the beating of a deceased horse analogy...we on this forum can take a subject, like the nuances of questche v. prune and make go on for pages so why is the subject of "bad apple" SA's so blasse? I have experienced both ends of the SA spectrum and welcome a discussion of both...I've had crappy service and I have had sublime service and at no point did I think, "Oh, I'm going to quit Hermes because of...." or "Hermes is my eternal shangrila"

This is a forum to discuss all aspects of H, to ad nauseaum if so desired...

Foe example...I was at H main store Alaska with the esteemed Japster...and we got the ice cold "May I HELP you" when we were looking at agendas, which was preceded by the cold once over and followed by a hasty clean up of the "mess" we created...we both noticed it it and commented...I can understand her saying that to me but to Japster???? pure heresy!!!!...but we forgive and forget and buy....

Absolutely. However, complaining and not looking for a solution are not what I think this forum is about. Of course, we all need to vent at times, but I am solution driven, and would just like to see everyone find their bliss. :smile1:

This is an interesting point. If someone says they have received less than stellar service, what is the solution you suggest?

I have to say, I always I admire your advice in your posts, so I'm not sure I can add to what you already know.

I believe I said it in this thread before, but there are several options: Try another SA. Ask a friend if they have an SA they enjoy working with. If convenient, try another store. If not, but you really still really want H through a store, try another store. Try a reseller. For some, try being nice. Someone else suggested going with a friend.

And when you find a nice SA, hang on for dear life. Whether at H or not, I try asking them about themselves. And I try to remember what they told me. I do this, whether I am at H, or if I see the valet parker. People like to be acknowledged as people, who have lives and concerns and problems and joys. I just try to remember and ask about those things. Sometimes, I bring them a little treat. I also try to remember I have a blessed life, and I am grateful for every day that my family is safe, healthy and happy.

I hope some of these ideas work for those who have not found their SA.

AMEN AND EXCELLENT, ASA. I'm sure that SA's everywhere are always pleased to see you walking through the door, and I'll just bet that you get the very best of service too.
