Venting - TERRIBLE service at Saks Fifth Ave

Sorry this happened to you OP. That sucks! I never knew Saks tracked their customers in that way though I could see how some can get flagged. I don't know how your listings were but if you mentioned Saks' name in your ebay listing, they could've also tracked it if they were searching for their name in the keyword. From there they probably just looked at who purchased that item (or items). I don't know, just taking a guess here.

I do hope you get this resolved. I don't understand how it's OK for you to buy from their stores if you can still resell the item?

Had to resurrect this thread. Anyone catch the news of the Saks employee bling-ring?

Maybe this had something to do with their heavy handed response to the OP's situation.

Not that it excuses anything on Saks' end through...
Yeh, good post kaydelongpre. Maybe they were doing this vigilant searching as part of catching these employees. Either way, to the OP, Saks is going out of business soon, anyway. They closed all of their stores in our state. Unless they are able to revamp their online policies and customer service, I don't see how they can dig themselves out of this hole.

They are going out of business? Really?? I hope not as I love shopping there

A couple weeks ago, I placed an order for a Givenchy Antigona envelope clutch in the cherry red color (a deeper, raspberry red). When I received my order, it was the correct style clutch, but it was a very different shade of bright red, and the clutch had clearly been used in the past and had actual STAINS on it. The back was even discolored, like the leather had rubbed up against a dark denim.

At first, I thought maybe the color just looked different because of the computer monitor, but the inside of the clutch I received was black fabric, as opposed to the khaki fabric of the online picture. I'm assuming the clutch was previously used and returned by someone, and it slipped through quality control?? Though that doesn't explain the wrong color/season of the clutch?

I've contacted online customer service, and they told me to return the bag and that they noted the defects in my account. I'm really hoping I don't incur any hassle when they try to process the return... this is so frustrating!! Has anyone else dealt with this, and did everything get resolved properly?

I've not had this particular issue with Saks but I had a similar issue with Barneys.com. You did the correct thing by calling to let them know.....they should return it without any further issues.

These stores are getting very careless at the expense of the customer.

Besides being inconvenienced & everything that goes along with it,
where is the quality control??

How does Saks ship out an item in this condition??

As for the wrong colour, my only poss explanation is this: the website team/image team either used stock photo from the wrong season or Saks placed orders (as these stores that carry other brands place buys months in advance) for the beige fabric, but received the black fabric (and they didn't realize). Or, at one point in time, maybe they carried two of the same clutch, each with a different coloured lining and sold through all of them. Then one was returned and they used the wrong stock photo.
