I did some more inspection in good lighting and really cannot tell the difference between jonathan and swift other than the stiffness, which I agree is due to the chevre lining. Some more comp shots in natural and artificial light.

I bought the VJ leather Birkin 30. I absolutely love it.

I have the same bag in size 25. I love it, it is absolutely stunning. It is a lot more structured than my swift bags of the same size

Just for reference, rouge de coeur in Veau Jonathan! There definitely isn't a sheen on this compared the the black Jonathan leather items ive seen, I'm thinking because of this color being super bright.

I just got a Rouge Vif Veau Jonathan. I am the type of shopper that does not have a wishlist. My lovely SA knows what I already have and brings out inventory he knows that I lack in my collection. I was not going to buy a red until I saw this beautiful bag. It is really light weight wise and I describe the color as Cartier Red.

Oh this is such a gorgeous and unique bag. Red is such a nice pop of colour and it goes with most outfits except a red dress. Congrats!

How about weight? Any difference between the two leathers, or in comparison to epsom, mysore, or togo/clemence? TIA

I think Jonathan is equal in weight with swift. I definitely think it is lighter than togo/clemence. I don’t have epsom or Mysore to compare, unfortunately.
