Just for reference, rouge de coeur in Veau Jonathan! There definitely isn't a sheen on this compared the the black Jonathan leather items ive seen, I'm thinking because of this color being super bright.
This is soooooo super saturated and beautiful!! Gosh this leather is totally irresistible! I think I need something (light colored B25) in this leather. With swift, I felt like the leather was raw, like no coating on the leather so if something spilled on it, it would absorb quickly into the leather & potentially stain it. It scared me too much in light color. I really want a light colored smooth leather B. Is VJ like that too or does it seem to have a coating to the leather if you know what I mean????

Coating that allows the spill to bead and then be blotted? Not really, as far as I would say, but doesn't give you the impression that it is porous, per se. No "coating " on mine ( black) the leather just has a deep satiny sheen, almost a glow to it ( probably similar to swift). Cannot comment on if something spilled on it ( but a spill on togo, etc. is not too wonderful either, I don't think, in a lighter color- but what do I know??). I haven't seen or heard of VJ coming in anything light- so far the reports are noir, gold, rouge de cour, vert tropicale, maybe something else ( can't recall) but certainly no craie etc.THAT I would remember!! And not in a kelly either ( which is a bitter disappointment (but does let me fantasize a great deal!!).
Sorry I can't be more helpful.:flowers:

I know what you mean! And now that you mention it, it does feel like it has some sort of "coat" to it. That is why I feel the texture of this feels different to swift. Swift feels soft and more smooth to the touch because it feels like a raw leather. VJ feels more...rough but not a bad rough, just like a less smooth texture due to what feels like a coating to me but it is not too different compared to swift.

While I didn't try it, it does feel like a water droplet would roll off if it happened to fall on it, which is nice! I think you should ask your SA and see! You may like this leather a lot, unfortunately though, I don't think there are too many light colors out there for VJ yet, but your SA may have more knowledge on this and what is coming next.

It's drop dead gorgeous!:heart::heart:

Thanks!!

Like John Snow, I know nothing!

Any updates on the wear and tear of this kind of leather compared to togo leather? I have been offered a birkin 30 in jv leather with gold hardware and wondering if it is as delicate as box or epsom leather. Your comments and greatly appreciated!

Since Jonathan is a smooth leather it scratches more easily than my togo leather but I have not noticed any wear to corners.

I don't know how VJ reacts to water but my 13 yearold Swift Birkin has been rained on many times and nothing happens. But it's a dark colour, I think any leather in a light colour is more prone to stains.
