I believe california tax payers are the ones paying in this case? Or does the LA county tax payers only pay?
I’m happy that she won for herself and the other families involved. All the families involved were violated by the pictures.

Hats off to Vanessa and to Mr. Chester, whose wife and daughter were also killed. Hopefully the size of this verdict will serve to discourage people from taking pix with their phones at accident scenes. I don’t know why more agencies don’t have internal procedures set up to prevent this type of situation.
The families were not allowed to identify the crash victims because of the terrible condition the bodies were in. I was sad to read that some of the descriptions of Kobe’s remains that came out in this trial. Even just hearing about it was difficult.
I hope Vanessa and her daughters can have some peace now so that they can move forward with their lives.
Should be LA County - the creeps were from LA Sheriff and LA Fire.
One other family was in this case along with Vanessa and her girls. I read somewhere that the other families have also filed cases as well, and that those other cases are still being worked up.
I would think that the County would try to work with all of the families to try to settle all of the cases. But I have been surprised at the County’s defense of the cases so far, so who knows.
i wish i could see the faces of some of the people who were calling her greedy and money hungry and since she had more than enough why she was suing for more!
