I think that makes you a realist! The whole thread was about how nasty Vanessa (and Kobe) are, then a 180 after he passed.
They say don't speak ill of the dead, which I totally understand, but if you look at Vanessa's IG and most articles online now, they make it sound like Kobe was an absolute saint.

He was the face of the Lakers for the long, a statue is placed in front of staples/Crypto I always prefered Magic who was far from being a Saint himself but he hasa great personality and is generous with his fans and the community in general.
Kobe was another kind of person…

Do she and Kobe's parents not get along? I found her IG Story about his father's death a little weird. She says sorry to hear of the passing ... and then says she wishes things could have been different Kobe loved his father. end it with something like condolences to family. Struck me a little cold, but if there were issues there, I get it.

As for the "new narrative" discussed above, Vanessa was always heavily snarked on for putting up with affairs and ****. "oops Kobe better get her a bigger ring..etc." but at the end of the day, they were together from high school had four kids etc. She lost a husband and daughter. I wouldn't think too kindly on anyone who didn't feel empathy for that.

One can feel empathy for someone, but still realize that they might not be such a nice person.
Like I said, I'd never really been in this thread before and was shocked reading the multiple initial pages of how most people didn't like either of them, and said Vanessa had many nasty qualities. I never followed Kobe or Vanessa before he died, so the past four years of articles and such all paint him to be a saint and Vanessa to be a wonderful person, so reading the posts from the past was a little eye opening.

I followed her on IG for a little while just before Kobe died. I don't even remember what made me do it...probably her VCA jewelry! She used to follow me back, shockingly. Her follower count skyrocketed after his death, and she stopped following all of us peons.
I would never wish what she went through on anyone. The loss of a husband is bad enough; the loss of a child is incomprehensible. She seems to be living her best life and their eldest daughter is now a model. She's cute, but the Bryant last name certainly helped. Vanessa's importance certainly grew 100 fold after he died.

She loved being Mrs Kobe as well.
I think that she was always *****y and entitled but otoh I can’t fathom how intense and crazy her life with him was.
As far as how she deals with widowhood, she has been graceful and kudos to her for fighting for her family’s legacy.
They always had issues with his family and her mother.
It is weird that at that level of wealth, they were both stingy with their relatives.
