I remember those comments too - there were people who paid in full and were told it would be new price when they collected. I think perhaps they were caught up in the few days prior to the PI but after the announcement? (as I
My SA mentioned last year that if an order arrives after PI, the difference in price will need to be paid upon collecting the piece. At that time I contacted another boutique who also said the same thing and that the price cannot be locked in even if paid in full.

Very interesting! I wonder if this will also apply to SOs, as prepaid SOs from the past couple of years are still trickling in. I have 3 still outstanding so I will update if they ask for more $ when they arrive. I had a MTO arrive about a month or two ago that was ordered a price increase ago and no extra was due (other than a ~$40 extra for increased sales tax rate that was implemented in the meantime).

Wow @Oceansparkle and did the boutique specify that even if you placed the order prior to the PI announcement this would be the case? Or was it specifically for orders placed in the interval between PI announcement and PI implementation? The latter was the case for me last May. Today I placed an order (before any PI announcement) and I specifically asked if my 100% payment locked the current price. My SA confirmed yes since I transacted prior to any PI email to the boutique. My order is estimated to take 3 - 4 months. I'm saving the text exchange - I will update if this changes!

ETA I just re read your post and it sounds like you are saying the former - even if you order and pay prior to any PI announcement. That seems kind of crazy to me!

I had placed an order in Jan last year. When the item arrived (one week before the price increase), my SA reached out and said that my order had arrived and mentioned that if it had arrived next week then I would have to pay the difference. I told her that it shouldn’t effect me as I had already paid in full, but she said even so. I later on contacted another boutique inquiring about another piece and during the call I mentioned what I was told and they confirmed that. I don’t know if that has anything to do with PI announcement or implementation interval tbh.

Its good that you saved the messages with your SA. Their policies are very inconsistent.

It already increased or will go up this week? Do you know by how much and if it’s for most/all of Asia?
I paid only 30% deposit for a 10motif & the new price will be about 8% more according to my SA. She said current/old price applies even if I collect & pay the remaining after 25/04. I thought of collecting it earlier to be absolutely safe…..

I’m wondering if this is US too. I have an appt for Thursday and hope I’m not already going to pay increased prices!
Why don’t you just prepay in full on Thursday to lock in the price? What difference does it make if you know that the price will go up next week in the US, hence, if there’s something you want to buy, just buy it now or pay more in a couple of weeks…
