I would buy in Canada regardless. When you return from Paris, Border Services will charge duty of 8.5% plus 5% gst plus whatever your %pst. That's going to be far more than $600. To avoid being OT - does anyone know if Canada is having a price increase?

Just checked prices online and indeed prices have increased for Japan and Korea. But it seems like prices have dropped for Malaysia. Unsure about other countries

The price increase for Japan isn’t tooooo bad if the yen stays at this level, or lower. I calculated about 3-4% increase on Alhambra line. Prices post-increase are about the same as when I purchased items in the Fall, at that higher yen to dollar conversion rate. It’s unfortunate for locals though.

Agreed if anyone can answer it would be great bc i am debating between vintage mop earrings or sweet. I am waiting for sweets to be available at my local boutique in the USA so I can try and compare the 2 before deciding in person

For the USA market: I noticed that the Folie des Pres experienced a price decrease! I regret that I don’t have all of the prices, but I can confirm for my personal HG piece, the Folie des Pres blue sapphire ring, that the price decreased from $49,100 to $47,300 USD.
