Valextra bags are lined in leather, with the exception of some of the large totes. The Iside line is lined in off-white chèvre, or goat skin, which doesn’t add too much weight to the bag.
I have one Iside bag in a light colour - poudre - a pinky beige. To date it hasn’t shown dirt, but I care for my bags by wiping them down with a microfibre cloth after use, and conditioning at least annually.
Hope this helps.
Thanks I saw this on instagram, is this poudre? this is soo pretty!

Dear Monique,

Thank you for your information.
that is good that all the Valextra bags are holding up so well. I used to buy LV bags, but there quality is sometimes so dissapointed ( misaligned pattern of crooked flap etc.. ). Mine old bag of LV that are more than 10 years old were much better stitched and better quality.

I am also looking at the Delvaux brand . Is your Tempete bag MM is supple calf leather ? I think this leather is less sensitive to cratches than boxcalf ? Can you wear the Tempete MM as everyday bag ?

you.
My Tempete is grained calfskin I believe. It has small grains. The grained calfskin is soft to touch. I have two brilliant in box leather. I have to say the scratches & wear shows less visible on the grained calf leather. I carried my Tempete a lot to work. It's easier to open & close compare to brillant. MM size is perfect in my openion. I love both brands but the Valextra's textured leather is more practical when compared. I'm happy to share if you need any pictures.

in Italy where DH bought a Valextra tric trac crossbody in pebbled leather - very sturdy. we also bought two Valextra eye glass cases (which may be one of my most used and loved purchases ever (fits even my oversized sun glasses (temples rest outside the case). Here is a pic of DHs tric trac with my Loewe mini crossbody at breakfast at Aman Venice; on a private garden tour; and my eye glass case (about the same size as my iPhone10

Hi Monique,

Thank you for your reply.
I have seen on the website of Delvaux only crispy calf , looks more like big grains. I like the color black with gold hardware, but is only with black or silver hardware.

Yes I also think the Valextra textured leather is more practical.

Hi,
I'd like to ask if it's okay to use wipes/spray to clean Valextra bags? If so, can someone recommend cleaning wipes/spray?
Here is Valextra’s care guide:
They say you can contact them with specific questions.
Personally, I never use wipes on any fine leather products, as they often contain alcohol.

Does anyone own the large version of the Iside bag? If so, what are your thoughts about it? I am considering buying an Iside bag, but I do not live near any of their retailers where I could try the different sizes on in person. There are many more color options available in the medium size than the large on the Valextra website, but I am worried that the medium may be too small for me. Any viewpoints on the large vs. medium would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I don’t own a large Valextra Iside, only mediums and minis, but I have tried one on.

The Valextra Iside large is 31 cm wide vs 26 cm for the medium. My concern is that with the large bag fully loaded you’ll want to use the removable, adjustable strap for comfort. However, the Iside straps are relatively narrow, so I’d be concerned that the strap wouldn’t be up to the task of hauling a heavy load. If you’ll only be doing hand carry, that wouldn’t be an issue.

Have you considered using the automated sales assistant function on the Valextra website? They might be able to give you side-by-side shots of the 2 sizes, and even modelling shots.

Good luck in your decision. The Iside is a wonderful bag.

Thank you very much! This is very helpful. I will definitely try the automated sales assistant function. I do tend to hand carry my bags most of the time, but the strap is a great option to have for travel and other situations when hand carrying the bag can be inconvenient. I am also glad to know that you have multiple Isides. That makes me feel much more comfortable purchasing one without being able to see it in person first.

Do you have a preference between the mini and medium sizes?

Oh no, this is like asking me to choose a favourite child.
The mini can be dressed up or down; it is just an easy bag all around. However, it doesn’t hold much, so if you need to carry a lot of stuff it is not a bag for you. The medium holds all daily necessities plus extras. It can be more formal if worn with business attire. I guess for my lifestyle and body shape, the mini gets a slight edge, but they’re both really fabulous bags.

Thank you! I’ve decided to go with the mini. Most of the things in my bag just take up space and I only use about 10% of what I carry.
