It would be but it cannot be replaced. They don't cut rough above SI clarity anymore. So it would either have to be custom cut or I would be scouring for a super clean SI1.
That said. As long as my diamond is in perfect condition, we'll see.
My diamond is a Star129 which is a branded cut. It has 129 facets, which is much more than a traditional RB. They are already hard to find, but the Star company no longer purchases rough above SI1 to cut. Which means if something happens to my VS1 stone, I have a tough replacement battle on my hands should I stay with this cut, which I likely would.I'm confused, who isn't cutting diamond rough above SI clarity? You could try to find a well cut estate stone as a way to find better clarity if need be.
Is it a problem with the size of the setting, maybe? When we sized my ring through T&Co. they told FI it would be 1-2 weeks (but gave themselves a one month window in writing). It took over a month, but I understood. My ring size is 3.25 and they had to melt and recast the entire setting and it was even harder with fitting my three stones together to fit on the front of my finger. It took FOREVER, but I'm happy that the setting is perfect.
I don't blame you. I thought of you too this morning! I'll be back for an update later! Keeping you in my thoughts today.HAH I am stalking the fedex tracking info.
It looks fantastic. I have looked at the ring under high magnification, and it looks like they did everything you asked. It is a beautiful ring. Being highly critical, there is hidden right up where the shank comes into the prongs, a very slight nick. Only visible under the loupe. I took some pictures of it already so we can let them know. Come on down and let's look it over together. If that nick was not there, it would be absolutely perfect. The stone is level, the prongs look great. the stone is at the right height. See you soon.
