Yes, this helps to quell some of my concern. Hoping to receive more input before pulling the "trigger". Thank you so much!

Hi, did you end up buying from purpose Japan? I am interested in a bag they listed and want to know your experience. Thank yo.

Warning Re: consigning with couture USA aka couture resale boutique in Tampa FL.
Consigned a Hermes bag in excellent condition with them. Shortly thereafter, I changed my mind about selling it and asked if I could have it back. The owner got on the line and proceeded to tell me that they put a lot of money into shipping and marketing the bag and since I signed a contract, they could not give it back to me. While I wasn't happy since they basically would not give me back MY bag and FORCED me to have to sell it, they did have a point. I signed a contract and I did not want to reneg on the agreement I made so I let it go. After 3 months, the bag did not sell. I emailed them and received NO RESPONSE. After a few days, I called customer service to ask for the bag and was on hold for 30 minutes only to be sent to voice mail. I called back, got the same girl who said I could come and pick up my bag. Seeing that I'm not located in Tampa, I told her it wasn't possible. I was then put on hold for another 30 min until the same girl, “Carly" came back and said "they're really busy back there and can't help you now. Can we get a number to call you back and sort this out". It seems like they are holding the bag hostage until someone has the time to respond to me. I don't understand how I'm able to get through their sales line where they are happy to help you but if you need something else, they can't be bothered. Bottom line: TERRIBLE customer service. Unless their buy out price is decent, I wouldn't waste my time as there are a ton more customer friendly and larger consignment stores that will treat you better.

Wow, yes, that's terrible customer service! I hope you receive your bag back without too much more effort on your part. Thanks for sharing your experience. I just feel the resale market has gotten so sketchy in recent years!

I've always had good experiences with Ann's Fabulous Finds. Granted, I've not consigned a lot, but they've always been very responsive regarding any questions, issues, or requests I've had. I've also had good experiences with them as a buyer.

Thank you! They finally contacted me at a different number (the person I spoke to obviously could not be bothered with taking down the correct number) and said they need a credit card number so I can pay for them to ship my bag back me me.
I’m now afraid they won’t ship it back in the same condition but crossing my fingers. Definitely had way better service consigning with other consignment places but at least I know to cross them off my list.

I’ve had a really amazing experience at Bagista for both buying and selling my bags. They do preloved and brand new Hermes, LV etc and have multiple layers of authenticity (they use entrupy).

When I’ve sold my bags I’ve found they give the best return compared to competitors like Sellier and Luxury Promise and same with purchasing (I purchased a b25 and k25 from them and have sold some Chanel items).

they have a physical store in Knightsbridge in London which is amazing if you’re not too far but they also have a website and ship international!

That's useful to know, thank you. Conversely I really wouldn't recommend Handbag Clinic for anyone selling in Uk.

I've purchased inexpensive items from them no problem, I wouldn't purchase Hermes from them as they may have repaired it themselves (and as it turns out may not be the actual bag in the photo).

However when it comes to selling. OMG! six weeks of chasing them to actually get the bag listed on their site!!
They quote 10 working days. It took two weeks and an angry call to get them to even acknowledge they had received it. Then followed a string of excuses as to why it wasn't listed.
The funniest one was the photographer being backlogged. Well when they finally listed it they'd used the same photos as another listing, which also happened to be the same photos they'd used for a bag I purchased two years ago!
Thankfully it's just an older Mulberry bag I've sent them, but if that had been an H bag I'd have been seriously upset :annoyed:

Luxury Promise is horrible, try selling anything with them and don’t expect to receive payment for 5 months and that’s with constant chasers and threat of a lawsuit!

Bagista is a mixed bag; a friend asked for a quote for her Rodeo and was told ‘sorry we don’t take seasonal key rings like your item’ I would seriously doubt their expertise with Hermès bags if this is what they know of Rodeos.

Designer Exchange can give insulting lowball offers; my friend requested a quote for her new B30 in a popular neutral shade and was quoted £6,000:shocked:
