Does anyone have any experience with The Purse Affair in Australia? They have a website and an Instagram presence as well as a brick and mortar store, it looks like. They seemed so professional, but when I was looking them up, I found this video by some YouTuber who apparently works for them? And it's just her playing dress up with all the bags and handling them very callously. Which is fine if it's your own bag, but it really put a bad taste in my mouth as a prospective client. I was wondering if anyone here had dealt with them?

This is the video with the employee.

Am I being too picky? I really didn't love how she was just playing with the stock.

Recently I bought (and returned) a fake Hermes scarf on TRR. I did not want to get into a pissing match with them about authenticity. I saw that it sold again (Feeling a bit guilty.)

I do not think TRR has the manpower or the balls to police (relatively) low dollar purchases such as H scarves and shawls. And lately I have seen legitimate H pattern scarves in colorways I’ve never seen before. I have been shopping for H scarves since 1980ish.

Has anyone noticed this? I am really careful now. Am I seeing phantoms? Here is an example.

ETA: I did not put this scarf on hold.

oh yes and yes!
I’ve even taken the time to email them more than once with details why the items are not authentic.
Their replies are always the same…....”our team of experts…“ blah blah blah
And, we can't even get it authenticated prior to purchase with the pathetically few photos they post. I wish I had your experience! I have been skeptical of their stock, but just caved and bought something from them. It hasn't arrived yet and I am already thinking I should just return it! (I don't think the return window is long enough for me to have it authenticated independently then return.)

I did notice one tea time that seemed odd (with a yellow heart). It concerned me but it has also showed up on IG as a “year gift” - it seems as though there are a few tea time year gifts out there in different colorways, so I’m not sure if it was fake.

The scarf in the original post sold.
It is caveat emptor.

@Florasun, I also have a scarf coming this week. Crossing fingers that it will be OK.
Exactly!

I do not understand their business strategy......If a certain design has never been produced in the format and/or colorway that is listed for sale on their site then how can they continue to stand behind their "experts" that inaccurately deemed it an authentic item. I'd have respect and understanding if they would just say.....oops we made a mistake.

TRR is very, very frustrating.

@etoupebirkin, I think H issued Brides Rebelles in a GM mousseline but I can’t vouch for that cw; do you think it’s a problem? It’s rather pretty alas although I’m not the buyer…
I bought mine at the H boutique in NM DC about 10 years ago. It was the last one in the country in this colorway

@textilegirl
I had the Brides Rebelles Mousselline in the other color way (coral, purple-y grays and cream). I had never seen this color way before. It's beautiful.

But since I was burned on another scarf that I know to be a fake. There was(is) no Three Graces 140CM detail shawl produced to date. While the scarf was pretty, there were lots of other "tells" that the scarf was a fake.

ETA: I loved the Hermes Boutique in the Chevy Chase NM. Sigh. Both H and Neimans are gone.

Wishing you good luck!
I received it today. On first examination, it looks good. It seems to me unworn.
I'll post pics in the authentication thread tomorrow. The weird and annoying thing is that there was a tag that said the item was final sale. WTH. It was not on 40% off. It's an old pattern 140 CSGM. I am hoping it's from one of this initial releases in the pre-2000 era because shawls back then wore like iron.

Ugh! I got bitten by the 'final sale' thing, too. That cured me from buying off of TRR for awhile until this scarf came along...
I hope you got the "good" cashmere LOL. I remember lots of discussion on the forum when it started to go downhill. I have a couple of early 2000s CSGMs that have worn well, I think it was around 2008, 2010 or thereabouts when the quality started to decline. (off topic - but I was also recently thinking of another past issue - for you other OGs out there - remember the stinky leather debacle?)
