Question. Does anyone know what percentage the "buyout" offer is as a percentage of the final sale price on the website of resellers? For example, if the buyout offer for a Birkin was $10,000 what would the online price be for that Birkin? I have a large collection of bags that I rarely use and now I am thinking it is a time to sell them.

The rate will vary by the reseller and by the price point/desirability of the item usually. Typically they will have a FAQ section where this is addressed, but if not you could send them a message.

So I received a buyout quote for my bag from Fashionphile and they put a time limit on the offer for later today. Is that standard? Why do they do that? I am awaiting quotes from several other websites and so I don't want to accept yet. If I let the offer expire is it forever gone or will they reactivate it - perhaps at a lesser price? I'm sorry for these basic questions but this is the first of my many bags that I have considered selling and so I am not familiar with the protocol. Thank you very much.

In all the years I’ve dealt with FP, never have they quoted me a price with a 24hr time limit. I would call them at their toll free number and ask to speak with a CS rep they should be able to clear this for you.

You are right! I went back and looked and I hadn't noticed that it expires 7/28 - not 6/28! Sorry about that! It is a good offer. Am I correct to assume that if the buyout from one reseller is virtually the same as the amount I would hope to receive from another's consignment then I should just go for the buyout?

I would for sure.

Thank you! This makes me happy as I'm wanting to buy my first Hermes bag from him. I have this hesitation because of the amount of money involved in transaction.
Awesome!!! please share your experience buying from him later. he has been pleasant to deal with just a little slow in replying sometimes due to his large clientele. Hermes involves big sum of money, with that amount, its natural to have hesitation!

Something odd is going on at Fashionphile lately that has made me reach out to them, and ask WTH?! I will give today's finding as an example, FP has a Mr. Farrier 140 Scarf for sale, marked as "new" in Acir/Gris/Antharacite. I own this scarf. Bought it in May this year. FP's colors look off for one, but holy moly so does the price! This scarf is still being sold, at this moment, on Hermès' website for over a hundred dollars less than the "new" Fashionphile one. Even adding in taxes, the one from Hermès direct is less than Fashionphile's listed price. This is just one of dozens of things like this, and then items I've questioned being authentic, since I own the item, and the one listed doesn't seem right.

If anyone gets a valid explanation from Fashionphile, please let us/me know. I used to think they were ok, but now feel skittish after the weirdness the past month+.

I agree, something is going on with Fashionphile. I sold an Evelyne bag, had it about a month and decided I just made a mistake with the color. I had everything, included the receipt. Sold it at a "showroom"...also known as Neiman Marcus. This was a Friday morning. They told me the check wouldn't be good until the next business day. What? I said, you expect me to take a loss, ok I expected that, but to take my bag, and not pay me for it until Monday? So, she said, well, let's do a payout in a direct deposit. Ok, they didn't pay me until Tuesday afternoon. Then they had a necklace,(on their website) that they said was Tiffany, nope, it was Roberto Coin. I emailed them to tell them how I knew they were incorrect. They didn't change the listing. Feel sorry for whomever thinks they got a Tiffany diamonds by the yard, not that Roberto Coin is not lovely, but it wasn't what they expected they were buying.

What you just mentioned, mislabeled items, is one of the things I have noticed occurring with ever more frequency on Fashionphile. I am a diehard Hermès customer. I order two to three items from my SA every couple weeks. She and I text message back and forth about things frequently now. I am happy to have found a new SA, since my longtime SA, Sally, left Hermès last year. My husband says I am an orange box monster. Hermès is the only company of its kind I purchase from, so I own a significant amount, across a broad spectrum of their items. I am no bababebi, but I do pretty well at spotting an item that isn’t authentic. I may not always be able to pinpoint why it is not authentic, but I’ll have fireworks and alarm bells going off inside my head. I see that ever more frequently with Fashionphile. Previously, it was only on Rebag, TheRealReal, Vestiaire Collective, etc., where my brain hurts after seeing the number of counterfeit items being sold. I leave those sites feeling sad for the people who will be duped. TheRealReal just sold a Nevada Hello Mr. Farrier cap in tan, that seemed to me to not be real. It had unfinished seams, tattered edges, the leather Mr. Farrier was cut wrong, and the lining of the inside of the hat was all wrong. It sold for $315

The scarf in the attached screenshots caught my eye because I liked it, but then I got to the tag, and it seemed a bit off, so I googled it to see if I could find someone posting theirs for comparison. What came up was a previous Fashionphile listing for the exact same scarf, with the exact same photos, and same “new” description. I emailed them, the response was that it was indeed the same exact item, someone bought it, and then used their, I forget the name, fashion renewal exchange program to return it and use the credit for a new item. I thought, ok, but then it’s not “new” anymore, so why are you still selling it as new a second time?

Then there’s this coin plate. It’s still for sale at Hermès, and for less than what Fashionphile wants for it, even with Fashionphile’s “10% discount.” The list just goes on and on of things I see lately. It is such a departure from what I experienced when I first encountered Fashionphile last year. I’ve only made two purchases with them, but I am hesitant to make more due to these recurring weird issues.

Does anyone here know what’s going on with them? New management? New authenticators? Anything to explain this? Until it’s figured out, I’m going back to only buying through my SA at Hermès. Too bad, was always nice to find an item here and there that seemed a good deal.

FP lost me when they offered me $225 on a bag they were selling for $675-950. Besides being insulted, if that is their usual MO, I refuse to buy from them knowing they ripped off a seller to overcharge for an item that as a buyer you can’t be even certain is authentic.

They offered me $8K for a brand new Kelly 25 in box never carried! They would list that at at least twice that price.
