Hi! This might not be the right thread for this question, but I have the option of getting a Kelly Sellier 32 Black Box Leather, 1998, absolutely mint condition, with dustbag, box, strap + clochette and keys, for approx USD 9600 (from a reputable seller). This would be my first Hèrmes and I have never tried on a Kelly, nor will I be able to do so before purchasing.
Hence, one of my concerns is the possible resale value if the bag does not agree with me.

Thankful for any opinions you would like to share
Do they have a returns policy? I know this is an obvious question...
Or do they have some sort of arrangement whereby you could re-list it with them with no commission?
Perhaps research how much a similar age/condition bag has sold for on a platform like Vestiaire before buying it...If you can sell for the same then its worth taking a chance.

I am restoring a 1956 Kelly 35 Box in a Rouge H-type color (need to research color name.)This was the year she used the bag to cover her baby bump and caused a frenzy.

Am I right in thinking she is a collector’s item? Where is the best place to sell a bag like this?

Hi everyone, I would like to add my 2 cents worth about the reseller LuxLexicon. Visited the store last week with hubby. The owner Florence attended to me and this is the first time I met her. To be honest, I was very disappointed at her service. She wasn’t rude, but wasn’t friendly or welcoming at all. In my opinion, I was dressed alright but hubby was quite shabbily dressed. Shorts and t shirt, would you think someone can be so shallow now a days to look at someone’s dressing in order to reckon how much they’ll spend? I can’t comment on that. I went there ready to purchase a birkin but in my thoughts..... she just lost a deal because of her attitude to us.
I must say however, I bought my first Lindy 26 from her staff, name Catherine. Catherine’s service was impeccable. She made me feel so warm and if she was paid a commission for the bag I purchased, it was totally worth it. Just my thoughts on LuxLexicon.

The one in Centrepoint? I've been there. They were really rude. My husband refuses to go back in there

Etika Fatma is actually very reliable and ethical. I personally buy a lot of bags from her for my own clients and I pay all my suppliers via wire transfer, buying over $2M a month. A lot of the smaller sellers who work from home, like Etika, simply aren’t equipped for credit card payments. I’ve found her to be one of the most honest people I’ve worked with.

thanks you dear

The Luxlexicon staff were really friendly but I stopped going to this store once I dealt with the owner - condescending and for lack of a better word, unkind. I much rather let another store owner with better attitude earn my hard earned money.

Have you visited Luxemaison also at Centrepoint downstairs? I went there cos I was so upset with the store upstairs, and found that their service is very good, not pushy at all. I have since purchased a bag from them. I don’t know who is the owner though haha.

I also highly recommend Trove at Far East Shopping Centre and Ruelamode at Delfi Shopping Centre. I find the owners there professional and polite, and I have purchased bags from them too.

I just received a bag that I purchased from Eclaire Atelier and everything went perfectly smooth. They were extremely kind, patient, and responsive. Couldn’t be happier!

Thanks for sharing! I’ve heard many good things about Eclaire Atelier but I have so far held back from buying from them as they are based in Malaysia and I’m in Singapore. I am terrified of online shopping for expensive bags cos I have had some crappy experiences with online based resellers in the past - the bag doesn’t turn out to be how it is simply by assessing photos.

However, I recently saw on their IG that they are opening a physical store in Singapore at 313 Somerset in July! Looking forward to check out their new store!

The date might make it 'of interest' to someone, but I doubt if it has any intrinsic extra value.
It ought to be spaed by Hermes to retain maximum value.
Of course, it would not have had the name Kelly at that time. It was something like 'petit sac haut, fermetures à courroies et cadenas'.
